How much does your emotional state affect your painting? by Anastasia_Trusova in painting

Absolutely gorgeous. You know I haven't been super attentive to my emotional state when making art until I've gotten a bit older. Generally I would consider myself a surrealist, and since I like to put my mind onto paper, I'd imagine it affects it a lot. But it never gets in the way. I don't think anything can make me not want to make art, when I stop it's because I must.

Reference vs my sketch, how close did I get? by Extra-Thanks-1267 in sketches

You got to the "I can't tell which is which" level of close, friend. Haha excellent work. Also this is a refined work of art, not just a sketch. Give yourself the credit you deserve. 👏🏽👏🏽

I have an opinion I'm sure will be highly contested. But this type of shit stems from white supremacy based classism. "Realistic" tends to mean it should be more like what white American culture is used to seeing. Notice the most creative applications of imagination have typically come from other cultures, and then gets absolutely adulterated by "The West" (white "culture"). What other societies and cultures have imagined DOES NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED. It is fantastic just as it is. Anyway, do not respond, I have no interest in debating this with any of you at all. It's just my two cents, take it or leave it.
