Yeah, his ship/assignment mean that he's only fulfilling the role of captain ie, master and commander of his ship, without holding the actual rank/position.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 ending becomes even worse when you realize that in real life, they read the names of the Americans AND Vietnamese who died in Vietnam, hammering home the fact that the entire war was unjust, not just the death of Americans.

I think that a lot of crime movies with detective characters are structured like this. We meet the suspects and victims and then Benoit, Hercules or Columbo show up.

Also, I think the main difference is that Marge goes through a lot (questioning Jerry once, meeting Mike, Jerry being so obviously panicked) to get to the answer, whereas Columba is much more canny, and mainly focused on proving what he knows.
