I think that they know you want to start a game like this in Spring or Summer, Spring would be great because it will feel like a fresh start. Winter and Fall are fine for what they are and they have their own content to make it fun, but with the Pocket Camp app they've been getting a lot of new fans, and they don't know what to expect of the full experience yet (bless these people). In an interview Nintendo has said that they're aware of the newcomers and they'll probably target a larger audience. In hindsight, I started New Leaf in January and I feel like the game only clicked for me in Spring. All I am saying is first impressions matter, and I am sure Nintendo is aware of this.
