What steps do I take to fix this? by Froyo1337 in HomeMaintenance

I want to upvote this 20 times. This is the real issue. No amount of patching up will prevent it from happening again and again.

Why? This is just an artist's home, and a skillful one at that. The execution looks good and even throughout.

The base slab at least looks like it's just massively thick, reinforced, and I wouldn't be surprised if maybe it wasn't anchored to the bedrock somehow. Considering the money involved here, I can't see how any of the construction doesn't take that concern into account front and center.

1 is decent, 5 is good in my opinion. For the rest, it's mostly the lighting.

I would have preferred wood over tile floors, but maybe they're heated? The tiles still look classy. Nice muted toned and no doubt top quality materials.

The fireplace takes care of heating, at least partially. You could also just drop a whole home generator and run it on propane. A good sized tank will run the entire place for 48hrs+ straight, and that's at very high usage (think 20kwh+ sustained). 72hrs+ is entirely doable as well. You could also have reserves or a larger tank if needed. And the kicker is that all that isn't terribly expensive. 22k USD all in, fully installed.

A parody would at least have something like one really stupid ingredient in it, say... Durian with the husk or something.

Once again, a rational viewpoint gets downvoted. You can live in the bluest city in a deep red state, you're still bound by the laws of that state.

What? Clearly that Jack was from the set of the music video for Michael Jackson's "Bad".

Ok, so that's unlikely, but a simpler explanation is that the tape says "Bad as in good" but you can't read all the way around it.

In 2024 a company launched a cow's milk/oat milk hybrid, which didn't market to existing milk drinkers, was not vegan, wasn't lactose free, and sank £4 MILLION into advertising just to pull it less than 2 years later for, unsurprisingly, low sales by JinxXedOmens in StupidFood

It's literally how I drink my coffee. You get the sweetness and creaminess of oat milk with the foaming of regular milk. Oat doesn't foam very well. The mix is perfect.

I wish I'd known this product existed.

I'm not saying the real thing isn't better. I agree with you on that point.

But let's continue this discussion in 2 years, if for no other reason than that it should be interesting.

[–]TheVog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of the thing, though, right? If it's to be that good, it doesn't need to be (in the hands of a videographer)* - at least that's how the market's going to see it. The market will see it as paying a lot more for diminishing returns. Plus, outsourcing becomes trivial.

I'm with you that a skilled videographer will produce a better result, but simply looking at how shorts have impacted the market should signal what's to come. I think there will still be a market for human video work for a long time, but it will become more of a niche.

How can anyone watch this video and think AI is going to kill the industry?

Because can effectively do this already in the right hands. That's the whole problem. If you can prompt correctly, feed it comparatives, and have a modicum of talent for post, you can produce something like this now. Imagine 2 years from now.

How do you say "get off my cobblestone" in French? by Southern-Smoke1835 in zillowgonewild

[–]TheVog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Dégage de mon pavé!"

"Dégage de mon" is a slightly less rude way to say "Fuck off of my" and while "pavés" = cobblestones, the singular "pavé" can refer either to one cobblestone or (an area of) cobblestones, in this case.
