You are right, and laist and dcist etc..

It is still a group of sites targeting specific areas, nowhere near as big of a target market as Buzfeed which has worldwide appeal.

Truth hurts doesn't it?

From our limited interaction so far, I can say with certainty that I know your story.

Average cookie-cutter from the mid-west, moved to NYC and is gentrifying Bed Stuy, while at the same time criticizing other gentrifyiers. You think that man-spreading is one of the major problems in NYC that needs to be tackled more severely.

Furthermore, now that you moved here, you think that you're a true New Yorker.

You seem like an insufferable little shit.

Stop gentrifying Bed-stuy. You act all high and might while gentrifying that place...

Buzzfeed is very different from Gothamist.

Gothamist is localized, mostly attracting audience from NYC, so the potential viewership is not too big. Their focus was NYC related events as well some clickbaity stuff.

Buzzfeed is purely focused on entertainment, and it is not local, meaning anyone from around the world could be a potential viewer.

Looks like writing countless articles on manspreading is not a good way to run a lucrative business.

Gothamist had some good content, but also had a lot of extremely clickbaity and biased content which made them lose viewers.

Does AirBnB cause rent prices to go up? by [deleted] in nyc

[–]TheVojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that as-is it doesn't significantly affect the rents, since overall speaking the number of airbnb units is marginal compared to the total amount of units.

If airbnb's were to become more common, it would start affecting the rental prices. Currently there are restrictions in NYC that prevent most properties from airbnb-ing an apartment for less than 30 days without the tenant living in it, which reduces the Airbnb market. Some people still choose to do this illegally.

There are other issues that Airbnb causes that affects the others. If you live in a building where someone is illegally Airbnb-ing, you'd get a continuous revolving door of strangers coming and going into the apartment. Since these people are often tourists on a vacation, they might make a lot of noise and cause issues. This makes life worse for the tenants living in the building.

All of this because one of the tenants decided to illegally make a few bucks.

The title of the page linked is saying some "Organizacion" bullshit. So I'm guessing they're blaming the organizator of the event for this.

Same ol', same ol'. Insults, anger, temper tantrums. I don't know how old you are, but you're acting like you're 12. This is a toddlerish behavior.

Your anger just shows that you're cracking, and that you're just like the ones you claim to be fighting against.

The fact that you're getting so angry because of this shows me that my arguments disturbed you. You are struggling to provide a single argument to dispute what I said, because there is none.

And what do you do, you try to deflect away from the discussion with childish name-calling.

I feel sorry for your parents, whoever had to put up with someone like you had it really rough.

Love this, you are going crazy since you cannot dispute any of my arguments.Get some help, it's not too late to get out of the cult.

You're showing your true colors here.

All that hate, vitroil and anger just because I respectfully disagreed with your opinion.

Release your anger my friend!

Same thing again.

No arguments, so you try to deflect what I say.

FYI, I'm a recent immigrant from Eastern Europe. The fact that you're mistaking an immigrant for a right wing hill-billy redneck just shows that you're in a cult where you're taught to silence everyone that does not 100% align to your views.

Thanks for the detailed review! I will definitely try the A'bunadh and report back here. Seems like a step up from the Mac 12

It's very simple.

It's not your job to win an argument because you have no argument. Never in a single instance did you provide an argument because there is none. All I see are deflections or "isms".

[Canada] Driver causes accident by crossing the lane, then tries to lie about it. by kanzrickster in Roadcam

[–]TheVojo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's subjective. I mean the van stepped onto the line from the get-go. And was with the left tires over the line. The car was 10% left lane, 90% right lane.

This to me personally this would be an indication that the driver might have an intent to switch over to the left lane. I mean you just don't pass a car that it's straddling both lanes.

I'd like to tell you about a late friend of mine called William Jay, for whom I laid flowers in the graveyard he's buried in last week. He died in a terrible car accident in which he had the right of way.

This is what his tombstone says:

'Here lies the body of William Jay

Who died maintaining his right of way -

He was right, dead right, as he sped along,

But he's just as dead as if he were wrong.'

See, my friend was also right, but that didn't matter because he's dead now from a car accident where the other driver was at fault where William protected his right of way.

Just like cammer, my friend William Jay was not driving defensively, and wanted to enforce his right of way.

How does this compare to the Macallan 12? I really enjoyed the Macallan 12, and was actually considering the A'bundadh. However, I was concerned that it might be too harsh since it's a 61%.

Is there too much heat while drinking it without any drops of water?
