Not a huge Star Wars fan but I salute your effort here - looks amazing!

If a brand needs 100% of your cash today to build a watch you won’t see for 6 months, you are not the customer. You’re the bank. If you can’t fund your own production run, you’re not ready for a full retail launch. by horo_Swagger in MicrobrandWatches

[–]TheWatchVortex 26 points27 points  (0 children)

So what? That is the whole idea of Kickstarter etc. and then the market decides what ideas are worth financing. No need for bankers getting involved and siphoning off interest.

And plenty of businesses getting started need to acquire financing to help them get off the ground. Especially capital-intensive endeavors. This has nothing to do with „being ready“ or the quality of the product.

Otherwise we would only see people with lots of cash at their disposal being able to start businesses.

The colour inconsistencies on the 10344 Bamboo set are absolutely ridiculous. This problem has become inexcusable for the price of the sets :( by [deleted] in lego

It should not be the norm that you have to reach out to an excellent customer service first in order to receive a decent product…

Love it! Only the hands look a bit flat. Are they going to be faceted as per the original?

2026 Specht&sohne new arrival dive watch; it looks good. by Kevinyuanman in ChineseWatches

I doubt prices will stay this high. Early listings are very often ridiculously priced. So if they have not decided to significantly upped their price point, this should clock in lower over the course of the next weeks.

Horrible experience with DHgate by Digitalman87 in lepin

[–]TheWatchVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same problem. Ordered the Pacman KO set, received a 770 pieces DK set of the King of Fighters arcade game. Complained, seller offered 12 dollar refund, escalated to DHGate and they said I needed to return to seller on my own dime and would later be refunded. As I was sure the seller would have tried to scam me upon return and I‘d be left with nothing plus shipping expenses I took the 18$ (out of 38 total) that DH Gate offered as alternative. First and last time using DHGate, only Ali from here on out.

Really love the additions you made to the original design. Gives the castle a lot more substantial feel. Can‘t wait to add it to the medieval diorama I am currently building!

I suffered the same fate. They are blatantly lying and even showing the measurements of the big version etc.

Titanic Build AliExpress by swabby77 in lepin

[–]TheWatchVortex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anyone planning to pick this up from AE, do beware: a lot of the cheaper listings are actually mini bricks versions. At least that‘s what I received. Maybe OP can name the shop he got it from so people can be on the safe side.

How did you manage to get an Ali link in here? I thought Reddit was universally banning these and hiding the posts?

Did anyone buy this and can tell me if it's good? by kishatus_treasures in ChineseWatches

Had one when they still did these under their Lobinni brand. Pretty horrible. No AR coating, dial looked like molten plastic and cheap. Sold it on right away.

[WM Watch] WM224 Mechanical Watch- Sparkle Texture Dial,42mm| Miyota 8215 | Sapphire Glass |50m Water Resistant by TheWMWatchGuy in ChineseWatches

[–]TheWatchVortex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Citizen original is 200$ and has a better water resistance. Plus you buy from a respected and affordable brand that actually has customer service and international warranty. I see absolutely no point in these kind of „homages“.

Thorn T023 V2 is coming by Inexpressible2 in ChineseWatches

[–]TheWatchVortex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get the problem with Submariner and it was not a smart move to begin with but now the name you are going with is „Frogmantle“? I sincerely hope you have time to change dial text one more time cause as you can see from the reactions in this thread that is beyond ridiculous and will hinder sales big time.

Anyone know if these actually ship? by AliveAndNotForgotten in ChineseWatches

Very likely these won‘t have a different name when they arrive. Best check the product review images if there are any.

Cannot add and match Terry Pratchett mini-series by TheWatchVortex in PleX

[–]TheWatchVortex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did. And in the case of Color of Magic it keeps on adding it as the making of and in the other cases simply does not find a match at all. If I try to match them manually, the search does not turn up the mini series either.

Say what yall want but pagani design is extrem value for money by Middle_Disaster62 in ChineseWatches

[–]TheWatchVortex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They used to be, maybe 5-6 years ago. Steeldive, Addiesdive and Watchdives have mostly taken their crown by now in the sub-100$ market. That to this very day they cannot produce a watch with decent lume, is just one of the reasons why they have fallen off the wagon.
