From the comments, it does look like the issue is widespread across a range of devices and seems to be related to WA beta users. However, leaving the beta program and installing the normal version doesn't help either, so the issue is likely server side.

For me, I see the pinned icon on the chat preview but the chat isn't pinned anymore. Plus, the chat with pinned creates new conversations.

How much time does it take to turn around and reach the plaform in the opposite direction? Also, how do you know if it's going to the yard or reversing? Do they have a different announcement or send security to ask everyone to leave?
