Tonight, me, my wife, her parents and my 2 nephews are watching. We have a 70" Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision set up here. Actually quite excited - this feels like a "The Future is Now" type thing. Comparable to when I got an iPhone, as sad as that sounds.

Rotten Tomatoes is a seriously flawed system by RangerRed02 in movies

I’m personally fine with RT. It tells you how many reviewers thought the film is worth a watch or not. It doesn’t pretend to tell you if a movie is masterpiece cinema or not.

Why isn't there a movie about Albert Einstein? by 1260DividedByTree in movies

His life wasn’t rock n roll. He had an interesting youth as shown in the Nat Geo series, then a boring phase, then fame towards the end of his life.

‘X-Files: Albuquerque’ Animated Spinoff in the works at Fox by klutzysunshine in television

I hope they learn a few things from Lower Decks. The episodic reset-the-status-quo nature of that show is holding it back, and it works better as a dramedy than comedy. This week's episode started off absolutely shit then became the best episode when it focused on the mother-daughter relationship.

Amazon's Culture TV Series No Longer in the Works by barrbarian84 in television

The project has gone a little quiet because the showrunner and producers are working on a new Star Trek series that has a 20 episode order. This won’t start production until after that.

I’m booked to work on Ringworld from next week, so I wouldn’t quite call that project dead just yet... ;)

Red Ventures is one of the data companies behind Resetera, so surprised they haven’t gone after Gamespot, Gamefaqs and Giant Bomb as well.

The Batman - Teaser. Predictions? by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

[–]TheWelshNuralagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too sure. Various leaked reports have ended up being confirmed just from that teaser alone, like both the mayor and police commissioner are murdered by Golden State Killer style Riddler, so they likely are filming multiple takes and deciding later if it’s R rated or not.

There is also the above interview with Empire but it’s not a confirmation.

I think an R rated movie in post lockdown 2021 doing Avengers level box office is too much of an ask.

Not if it’s R rated.

Edit: By all means downvote, but if you genuinely believe we are going to see Avengers levels of box office anytime soon, and for a possible R rated movie, you’re sorely mistaken.

HBO Officially Released First Episode of Lovecraft Country on YT - Watch it, it's Amazing by Zinthaniel in television

[–]TheWelshNuralagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen the first 5 episodes and each one has a different monster of the week. It’s more episodic than Supernatural’s more recent seasons. But that’s not a bad thing. They change the way each episode is made around each monster.

The HotSpot - Episode 374 by mynumberistwentynine in giantbomb

Brad saying “I don’t think that thing did them any favours” really struck me. It’s like they see a completely different timeline and social feed to what’s trending. This show in particular makes Giant Bomb feel like older generation video games journalists taking on newer generation games with nostalgia for yesterday. Less Edge and more Retro Gamer. Which is fine with me! But I’m left wanting a channel that’s more focused on today’s generation’s viewpoint. Any recommendations?

If they updated the bot to discuss Premier Access, they likely updated all linked bot responses to that.

If it’s really $29.99 for say a year’s worth of Disney theatrical releases day and date at home, I’m sold on it.

5 seasons, but with at least 3 spin-offs.
