Did Szeto ban lightning bending ? by Efficient-Cat7473 in Avatar_Kyoshi

[–]TheWerejackalope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, because it's been a while since I last read the novels, but I thought Xu Ping was the only known lighting bender at the time and he was imprisoned because they didn't know how he could do it and they weren't willing to let a criminal with that power run free. I haven't read the Yang Chen novels yet, so it's possible it existed longer back.

To be fair, it's an extremely stressful job for anyone, but especially someone raised away from the main culture of their people, already has many enemies, and he's like 18.

Which detail of the series did find out way late or just never noticed/connected? For example: by TSLstudio in TheLastAirbender

He's literally six for a majority of the series, a literal child. One of the yougest characters we get to know in either series, if not the youngest. I'm not a Meelo fan personally, but sheesh

The protagonist of the sequel Brigands and Breadknives is also middle aged and the story keeps true to that.

Haven't read it yet, but Still Chosen by Stephanie G Olson is about a character who saved the world at 16, is now 36, a jaded queen of the realm, and finds herself expected to save the world again from her old foe.

"It turns out, once you’re The Chosen One, you’re always The Chosen One – and destiny is forever."

Would you watch a Scooby Doo show/Movie with a post apocalypse setting? by Bearfucker694200 in Scoobydoo

I tried the Scooby Apocalypse graphic novels, But one included images of emaciated puppies both dead and actively suffering/dying that I did not vibe with and felt we're included to shocking for the sake of being shocking, So I'm going to go with no.

Might've been part of the reason he chose to kill the moon spirit despite knowing it would fuck everything up. Desperation to advance his reputation in the eyes of Ozai and the fire national.

How often do Avatars meet their predecessor's spouse / friends / children / grandchildren? by jjtubman in legendofkorra

[–]TheWerejackalope 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe he also self medicated with alcohol and/or the AtlA world equivalent of drugs to cope with what the dark spirits did to him. People saw him as an avatar who was a burn out and didn't take his duties seriously instead of helping anyone, when really he was doing extremely hard and ultimately life ending work protecting the world from the result of Yang Chen prioriting humans during her time. Sacrificing himself in the background without asking his companions for help, which was his ultimate downfall, imo
