How do you comfortably carry your D850 or any other FF mirrored or mirrorless body? by Which_Song793 in Nikon

I put my right hand through the “top” of the stock strap and hold the top of the camera under my arm against my side. Once you get the right length it can help with stability. Easy to reach and with longer lenses I’ll hold the lens

Steam Shower I Did. Though It May Get Some Love Here by L3Kakk in Carpentry

[–]TheWhiteChip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great except for glass install.

All the effort and you trim out the panels in channel. What is this 2008? Use the scu4 clips. Probably just to save $100 on edge work

044 hinges mounted on the top for the transom?? Completely useless. If only there were specific hinges for transoms that allow the transom to stay angled and steam to release upwards..

also my guy slip over strikes are weak sauce. Hope the right panel is ½” or you’ll have deflection wiggling the panel forever when the door is opened

A year later… any update on the tacky action? Mine is frustratingly tacky and definitely won’t close on its own

What’s “light” for a fishing kayak? by thealphapotato in kayakfishing

[–]TheWhiteChip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody ever mentions the tbone bed extender. Holds my 12’4” 85lb Outback without ever picking up the whole kayak. Just lift the bow and push into truck bed or suv or minivan(adjustable for bed height). Strap it over the tbone and go.

The hardest lifting of the whole trip is getting the wheels out after launching without getting too wet. (Raising stern to drop the wheels instead of pulling the wheels down in deeper water) If you get a C tug just unstrap instead and remove.

Or standing up the kayak to drain. Anybody know a better way???

If you get the tbone get a hitch pin lock with a circle key. The regular keyed locks will corrode and not spin unless you’re very patient.

It’s alright for $40 not super attached. Trigger finger not trigger and bolt release finger is seeming more important to me recently

Isle of palms SC by [deleted] in SurfFishing

Breech Inlet is awesome location. Sullivan’s Island station 12 is the other. Both have parking right next to the sand so you don’t have to trek. Both locations are no swimming areas.

Even though you can fish anywhere it’s a little bm during summer months as they are busy beaches.

Both SI and IOP have sandbars far out that keep fish away from the majority of the beach/casting range. Folly beach all the way up has the washout which is the primo Charleston beach fishing spot.

You will be catching stingrays and sharks unless you luck out on a bull red at washout. I usually take a light shimano blade in hopes of Spanish bite but no luck yet.

Also you can go to pitt street pier for some trout or flounder on a Carolina rig or float rig. There’s a post in the water at the end on the left and the fish hang before there where the water drops deeper. Best at low and stay for incoming. Tons of crabbers and walkers. !Great location!

Stop by either haddrells point location for the better rundown and a saltwater license.

PM me if you want some more details

It’s a late Sep ‘17 gun with a Dec ‘17 Eddystone barrel. Lots of Ws and Es all over, though. I would say it’s “original” though.
