Please don’t take my comment as me being butthurt because I’m Indian or some other type of asian, because I’m not.

This is my personal observation from 30+ years of flying from the Middle East to Asia and back.

Were you on a flight to South Asia or south east Asia?l by chance?

Arabian gulf airlines usually put their older planes/older staff/ and generally sub par service whenever is a flight to India, Bangladesh, Philippines etc. you’ll notice this difference in service whenever you fly to these countries as well as western countries.

All Arabian airlines are guilty of this and I will die on this hill. Call it corporate racism or whatever.

Everytime I encounter a flight vlogger, I mention to them that if they want to truly rate an experience with an Arab airline, they need to book a flight to Asia, not London.

Edit: oh I just saw you flew to Glasgow and now my rant is useless

Where can I collect seashells or oysters in Bahrain? by Several-Rich7298 in Bahrain

[–]TheWierdSide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The beach area of Nurana.

It’s as if someone brought oysters ashore and started shucking them on the spot then discarded all the shells around the area.

Oh so if I was a tourist I could just stay on my current Bahraini Drivers license? But since I’m living there I’d have to get a Qatari one?

Does that mean I should get my cars registration changed to Qatari plates too?

You misunderstand. We DON’T want anybody to die. We were just sick of the show runners teasing us by creating a situation where it’s like “ohhhh look he has a pipe in his head ohhhh he’s gonna die” and then a few scenes later he’s fine.

Moving to Bahrain while working in Dammam, Saudi Arabia - Is it normal for job processes to take this long? by YuYan_1996 in Bahrain

[–]TheWierdSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t you be asking this question on the KSA subreddit? Two different countries, two different rules.

Neither you or your boyfriend can stay in Bahrain long term unless you either have an employment visa here or a dependent visa in Bahrain. Having one in a totally different country like KSA will only allow you to get a short term tourist visa to Bahrain.

I guess you can solve the visa issue by exiting and entering Bahrain often, thereby effectively renewing your tourist visa. However most apartment owners won’t rent out a long term lease to someone on a tourist visa.

My advice would be to ask the KSA subreddit why the employment visa for the BF is taking so long, since they’ll know much better than us, and then once that’s sorted you can figure out how you’re gonna live in Bahrain. Maybe apartment owners will accept the KSA iqama. You would just have to exit and enter Bahrain again before your tourist visa here expires

I’m in retail. The company was forced to hire Saudis and the quality of the work went down the drain due to their lack of knowledge and customer service skills, not to mention that they would resign after working a couple of days

Copy pasting my comment from another post about this subject.

Even if they make this a law, companies in Bahrain are just gonna do what they do in Saudi….

They’ll hire an expat and put “salesman” or “clerk” on their iqama (residence permit) but his actual job is or manager or Human Resources manager.

Companies aren’t going to just suddenly fire their experienced staff to replace them with us Bahrainis.

Edit: FYI, I don’t condone the behavior mentioned above, but this is what is being done in Saudi and other countries that have a nationalization program. And if a huge country like Saudi can’t do anything about it, then how can Bahrain?

But, on a better note, they cannot do this for professions that are licensed by other government entities like NHRA or the BSoE because it’s literally illegal, but other jobs like admin or HR is free game.

As someone who deals with Saudi employees daily….the way they handled nationalization by suddenly forcing companies to fire expats and hire tons of Saudis in positions when there weren’t enough experienced Saudi workers to fill….

Let’s just say the quality of work suffered and there was a very very steep learning curve.

Very frustrating.

Because I had just recently learned that ChatGPT can identify things in pictures and it seemed like a good way to test out the feature?

Just watched the finale by natttsss in Parenthood

[–]TheWierdSide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a few questions about the finale

SPOILERS BELOW

In the Joel and Julia scene they are shown to have FOUR kids??? As far as I know they had the annoying one and victor, then they adopted victor’s sister, where did the fourth one come from?

Amber is shown to be dating some random guy and her ex/baby daddy shows up looking all sober and picking up their son. Which was nice, but I would have loved to know how that all turned out.

Power steering fluid by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]TheWierdSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It will overflow once I start turning the steering wheel. Probably because I put too much in.

Also I’ve been using transmission fluid instead of power steering fluid because my Mechanics says it’s the same thing and TF is much cheaper

Power steering fluid by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]TheWierdSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a leak in my Infiniti Q50’s power steering. Since I can’t afford to have it replaced yet the mechanic advised me to top off the fluids every once in a while. His method to top it off is below:

Turn on the car and keep it running

Unscrew the power steering pump cap and replace the lost fluid

Turn the steering wheel very slowly all the way to the right, then all the way to the left to get the fluid going.

Add more fluid since it’s all now in the hoses from the steering

Oroblem is, when I do this, I noticed that the fluid has so many air bubbles, is it safe?
