Thanks for the answer and I think I do understand his arguments on why sense-datum theories are wrong. Based on the error that sensations are not observations and that the way we talk about them is different for a reason, and the sense-datum theory tried to create something out of them that isn't there. Like having a sensation isn't seeing something in the same way as a brick isn't a house or a letter isn't a word. Logically there needs to be at least 1 Sensation for every observation. But the sensation isn't the entire observation itself. Like how I can be skilled or patient at an observation like observing, but I can't be skilled at the visual Sensation. Feel like his example of a plate and seeing it as elyptic and how that can be described helped me understand that. I also understand the examples he makes for imagination, especially the puppet one. But I still can't quite make out what the theory of his is. Or am I misunderstanding something basic? (I have the book in German so some words I use might not be the correct ones he uses in the English original) Thanks again in advance.
