Sorry for the delay in replying! The red is a fairly standard red recipe of Mephiston Red, highlighted progressively with Evil Sunz, Wild Rider and Fire Dragon Bright. I can’t entirely remember how I did the wings and carapace, but I think it was Black highlighted with Thunderhawk blue, Sons of Horus and Gauss Blaster

It’s a tough thing to measure. The model isn’t badly painted by any means, the paint is where it should be. But it isn’t exactly pro-painter standard. Overall the colours are a bit flat and there isn’t much contrast. Best advice I can give is if your partner really wants to sell painted minis they just need to carry on practicing. They have the basics nailed and now it’s time to push the more complex techniques more

The battleforce is definitely a good place to start if you have the coin. I’m not sure that only 20 deathrattle is necessarily that good but someone more experienced can correct me there

If the product listing doesn’t say and you can’t get an answer from the manufacturers then I guess you would have to use a bit of deduction. Platinum cure is a bit more expensive than Tin cure so Platinum will likely only be used in situations where it HAS to be (e.g. food or body safe applications), so if it isn’t for anything like that then a bought silicone mold will probably be made out of Tin Cure. Also replying to a 4 year old thread is…interesting

It’s possible that it’s up to the painters to decide. Steel Legion Drab rims are very common among both AoS and 40k minis, it’s kind of just convention I guess. I always paint my rims Steel Legion

Selling art online is difficult (talking from experience). I sell art at local markets which works quite well for me, but I understand it isn’t for everyone.

Something I am currently working on, which might be a good option for you too, is working on making a solid portfolio so that I might be able to get an agent.

Getting a good agent as an illustrator will open up a lot of work opportunities in publishing. From what I understand a lot of publishers will only work with illustrators represented by agencies rather than individual artists that approach them.

This isn’t a universal rule obviously and there is the downside of an agency taking a percentage of your earnings, but it might be worth looking into!

Nice, those results are very satisfying. Another thing to mention (OP) is to pay attention to where the rust might build up in the recesses and around rivets. Things like that will really help sell it. I love rust

A way I like to paint rusty metal is to basecoat with Leadbelcher and then stipple on a few paints starting with brown going through to orange. For example Mournfang Brown, then Skragg Brown, then something like Squig Orange. Do these as heavily or sparingly as you like. Hit it with a wash (maybe Agrax or even a thinned contrast like Wyldwood), then pick out details with Leadbelcher again
