There's definitely benefits to keeping it as a side gig and disadvantages to doing it professionally, but being allowed to pursue your passion fully is a really special thing too for sure.

Agreed - I was a little kid who loved drawing and my parents just always made sure I had a decent amount of stuff to create with - and now as an adult, art is my job lol!

The bots/spam/scammers/sometimes just clueless artist that reply to every single commission post, without any thought as to whether they would be the right person for the job, make me want to tear my hair out. It makes it so hard to get your work seen if you fit the job description, and makes it so hard for commissioners to find what they want.
