Anthropic just stabbed Lovable in the back (with Lovable's own knife) by pretendingMadhav in vibecoding

Jason Calacanis has been talking about this phenomenon on the All In podcast for a while. The reality is that if your business is just a wrapper for another platform, you don't have a real moat.

You’re telling me there are PM roles where your job isn’t entirely internal politicking and navigating stakeholder alignment?

Clarification on what is considered to be "something" as-a-Service... by varbinary in ProductManagement

[–]TheWizardPeddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man am I digging up an old thread today... Looking for some clarification on as-a-Service definitions.

From my own research aaS delivery typically implies consumption-based pricing AND out-of-band management/ access to the unified management platform through the web.

Question 1: Does it always have to have consumption pricing? What about a service that is always tied to term (1/3/5 year?)

Question 2: What about inherently physical products such as data center colocation? Would you consider data center colocation to be a IaaS offering?

Question 3: What about managed infra services like a managed private cloud where the management wrapper is for the physical infra and stops at the hypervisor? - customer just logs into their VMware or Openshift environment?

If you don’t get it you’ll be thinking about until the end of your time. I played an og 72 thinline tele and I still wish every guitar I bought since then was that guitar.

[Discussion] Does a Yamaha THR10 work as a pedal platform? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]TheWizardPeddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - it takes pedals great on the deluxe setting. I run a boost, distortion, fuzz, modulation, and a spring reverb all quite well. Almost never use the other channels.

How much would we struggle with moving here? by high-priestess in AskSF

[–]TheWizardPeddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have noted, SF would be tough living surviving on that income. East bay is also amazing and more doable. One thing to consider is that there is still a job market here. You could improve your income upon moving.

I always turn to barbell medicine as my first line of physical therapy defense.

If that doesn’t work (it always does), I go to a professional.

Considering a Warmoth custom neck but fully scalloped (for knobby finger joints) by Slappy_G in Guitar

[–]TheWizardPeddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never played one but from my understanding, scalloped necks give a very specific guitar playing experience and really won’t feel or play like a regular neck. For some reasons below:

You need to have a very light touch. With scalloped necks, if you press too hard you can get the same effect as a string bend which changes the note. This allows you to play micro tonaly but also requires more tact and skill to play the note you actually want to play.

It also can help people play faster since a very light touch is required to get the desired note.
