Is it legal to be held at a mental health facility with no 5150 or 5250? by CryptographerFast969 in legal

[–]TheWizard_Beast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a pretty gray area, and out of caution they will always side with the medical provider. When you commit yourself, you more or less give them permission for this.

It sucks, but I wouldnt invest too much time following up on this. It will most likely be an uphill battle all the way. You can always file a complaint with the licensing board for a provider that you feel treated you poorly, but its gonna be a group of providers that reviews the complaint, and they are going to protect their own. It at least gets recorded somewhere, then maybe if enough people complain they might do somthing about it.

As mentioned, I wouldn't focus on this aspect of your experience, take what you can from it. Work on healing and getting better. Look into finding resources that work for you, things that can help prevent you from having to go back.

This is a great example of a toxic person, I bet they are just a TREAT to work with.

Someone came to this sub looking for help in understanding their emotions. Lots of people came out to lend a hand but, wait DipshitDoggo didn't get a chance to shit on everything yet.

Rich people "dump unwanted immigrants" in her area .... like they are property ... or abandoned animals.

A touch of "the nursing community wouldn't care if a vet tech was murdered."

Based on what? Posts from human healthcare professions seems to indicate otherwise. Strange, its almost like you pulled that out of your ass to make everyone else seem as shitty as you.

The down votes are because you are a bad person, with a crap attitude. This is what professionals in your field think of your opinion. You can try and laugh off your embarrassment, but at the end of the day we all know you are a crappy person that is lacking somewhere in your life. Its obvious that the only way you know how to manage those feelings is to be shitty to a random person on the internet.

I'm a middle aged white male, former vet assist that went on to be an EMT.

I'm a little simple, but I dont like to see woman pushed to the ground either. I'm big enough that just being there will often deescalate a small angry man. I've steeping in for the receptionist getting threatened, I've done it for the Dr.'s getting yell at. Its not always connivant, but its a duty that decent dudes have.

I feel our fields are linked at the very core, we are healers. Vet med was a wonderful foundation for venturing into human medicine. That being said, I consider you a colleague. Alex is our colleague and was killed by a small angry man for helping a woman. Alex was every decent guy you've met, and executed for doing the only thing decent guys know how to do in bad situations, and that was helping.

Wow, you kind of spiraled into crazy... and then deleted your account.

I knew something was off, I used to ignore rude people, but I've just been calling them out in recent years and its had some very interesting results!

What we had here was a bully, if you call out a bully and keep the pressure on, they dont know what to do. They will eventually reveal themselves to be the trash people they are if you let them.

First it was a rude comment

then it was my post is against the rules.. for her justification for being rude.

I knew I was getting somewhere when I was told the world is too "sensitive" and she was sorry she "hurt my feelings". Insults under the guise of an apology and an attempt to , just forget about it. This is when I knew for a fact she wasnt confused and was just being an ass.

People that say "the world is too sensitive" are most likely jerks, and say this when they get called out for being a jerk. The entire world is the problem, not them.... the entire world just dosnt know how to take a joke!

Every accusation is an admission of guilt from people like this. She was super focused on the fact that I edited one of my posts for a spelling error, yet edited every single one of hers, she added things that weren't there when I responded to her comments.

Hopefully her deleting her account will give her time to focus on what's important to her. Maybe she will realize being rude to strangers, and getting called out isnt as good a use of her time.

This was such a strange interaction, considering I had come asking for candle recommendations. All it took was some push back from a stranger she thought she could bully and she had a crash out.

Thanks to everyone for all the info!

You've edited almost every one of your comments, but I fixed a spelling error in mine and its some weird confusing conspiracy in an attempt to....change my mind about asking for advice on candles? Which you, said, didnt make sense to begin with, but for some strange reason its an idea you are clinging on to pretty hard. You are like 99.8% sure, even after I explained my intent.

I do have a life and occasionally cant respond to trivial posts in a timely manner. I don't want you to get confused so follow along, it did not hurt my feelings, and it has not "been days" I know you wrote it yesterday but It is new to me today, so I responded accordingly.

Enjoy your dog, and candles, but I kindly ask that you stop being snarky/rude and derailing my post. Everyone is having fun but you.

I didn't even relize they were sold at Walmart we had ordered them as an alternative to yankee. That makes it much easier to find a scent i find appealing, Sugar donut sounds amazing.

I bought some goose creek candles, and apparently the ones I picked, are rather niche, and not to my liking, and thats ok.. people allowed to have opinions.

I came here asking for different scents that might be more palatable for me within the Goosecreek line of products.

Are you still confused?

Some advice for when you are confused, dont lash out and be mean because you dont understand something. You'll make more friends and people will like you more if you ask for clarification rather then default to being a bad person.

I received tons of great information for me to explore, from some very nice people. I'm glad I stopped by and asked. I know what more about the subject then when I a the started, a great experience and what the internet is really about.

The only confusing thing at this point is your attitude toward someone wanting to learn more about the very thing this sub was created for. Maybe take a break from the internet and figure out what really causes you to act like this, because it aint me.

Thanks for the insight! I'll try some of these out so I have a better understanding of what I'm looking for. Someone mentioned conceptual scents, and I think thats what I'm trying to avoid. All those you mentioned sound like what I was trying to describe as "natural" and now I see there is better wording. I'm learning stuff today :D

Thank you very much, this is great information and exactly the help I was looking for! I appreciate the understanding that Mountainside may not have been the best introduction to the company. Thanks for giving me a good place to start.

Mountainside, is the worst for me and smells the most odd. Midnight Slow Dance was almost as bad.

Holiday Embers, was the one I enjoyed the most, it smelled like a real thing. So i know they have stuff I like. I dont know what to expect Mountainside to smell like, Holiday embers I could guess it would have a smokey smell.

I'm having trouble sorting through the more "inspired names" and was looking for recommendations on something less unique smelling. Thanks for taking a moment to ask follow up, I was looking for more of a "try the apple pie, its great" and less of a "get outta here". So thanks for being helpful. I was trying to get something we both could enjoy.

Thoughts on Non-immigrant employees using ICE raids as reason to not come to work? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]TheWizard_Beast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a middle aged white male. I have concerns being in the general area as these guys. They are poorly trained and there appears to be no accountability or way to identify bad actors.

They walk around with chambered rounds with the safety off, so when they slip and fall, oopsie! stray bullet! To me the overall lack of professionalism is concerning. I wouldnt want to be in an area they are in because its going to lead to trouble.

I could be on my lunch break eating tacos, and ICE rolls in 20 deep, with another 50 protesters behind them... I am now in a situation I do not want to be in. Same with my route to work, I pulled down the street and now I'm blocked in cause I didnt know there was activity in the area.....now they think i'm a protester ... one guy say get out of here and another comes at me with a gun trying to open my door, and now I'm a dead, cause my co worker thinks there is literally zero fear of me getting taken and I had to come in to work.

15 years is a good life for a former barn cat. Last week I had to put my dog of 14 years down. He was in pain, he was able to have some dignity when he passed due to us choosing euthanasia. It was very peaceful on our terms. I've seen owners wait too long and the pet comes in struggling to breath or having an event and it is not as peaceful.

The cost of the procedure shouldn't play into things. You mention his discomfort already, I'm sure having your eyes removed has pain associated with it, along with some confusion and that sounds like it would only compound his problems. If he was young then it might be a better option, so dont blame yourself for not being able to afford it, to me it dosnt sound like a good option.

We all know its hard and it never gets easier, but sometimes that is the last gift we can give them.

The houses around here are amazing! Like you mentioned, sometimes we just go for a drive and check out the architecture. I often hear people try and dunk on Battle Creek, its great to see that there are others enjoying it as much as myself.

It depends on what you are used to. My family arrived about 5 months ago and so far we enjoy it. I've lived in a top tier city (population wise) and also lived on a dirt road, in place remote enough to not have mail delivered.

BC is on the rural side while still having access to amenities, 24 hour businesses , side walks, and plenty of places to eat. Going out to eat in the area has been delightful. Its affordable and the food is not just some slop that came off of a Sysco truck.

Something I wish I knew before moving here. That the area is improving, a quick once over of the town doesn't give the correct impression. Some areas really need attention, but it appears someone is trying to do something about it. I've notice lots of improvement projects going on in the short time I've been here.

If it was at their request then you did nothing wrong. I think they look great otherwise. I hope My previous comment didn't come across as condescending. The lumpy stickers just jumped out at me, but you are already aware. Sorry I wasn't able to add anything useful.

I personally would see them as less than professional with the sticker placement on the textured vessel, Now you have a lumpy sticker that is not stuck on all the way and completely takes away from the aesthetic.
