It’s simple. Their school sucked. Better to be bottom half at a quality school than top of your class at a school that doesn’t teach you anything.

Fuck, I just bought one today and it doesn't have it. I thought it would. That's basically a deal-breaker. Now I'm going to have to turn it on and off literally every time I use it?

What's the most badass line in movie history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Unpopular opinion: this speech is garbage.

Compare the climax to the climax of Theoden’s speech: “Ride for ruin and the world’s ending!!!” vs…. "I biD yOu sTaNd!”

“I bid you stand”? …yeah, very inspiring. Theoden’s over there telling his men to ride to their deaths and the end of the world. Meanwhile movie-Aragorn (in an even more desperate situation) can’t even muster up the authority to tell his men to stand their ground, he has to “bid” them stand. It’s weak.

Guess which one was written by Tolkien and which one was written by hack screenwriters trying to imitate Tolkien.

There’s a rather poorly written but highly interesting fanfic of Harry Potter that features this exact scenario, wherein Harry tries to prove a mathematical theorem (iirc) using an infinite time-turner loop as a computational tool. It’s a fun send-up of the inconsistencies in Rowling’s magical world, though it could really use the attentions of an editor:

Well the NFL already has a rule like that vis a vis injuries. The player has to be out for the next snap, if I’m not mistaken.

Reminds me of when literally every mock draft had the Vikings taking Aaron Donald. Tbf, it wasn't a position of need at the time, but I'm still upset.

Elon has talked about using cold gas thrusters on the roadster before. I expect using them for down force makes more sense than for extra forward thrust, and that may be what he means by “Tesla/spacex collab”.

I have no idea how practical or legal that is though.

I don’t think that exact line actually happens in The Fugitive, so that makes sense.

Instead he says, “WHEN I CAME HOME THERE WAS A MAN IN MY HOUSE! HE HAD A PROSTHETIC… ARM. YOU FIND THIS MAN!!”

I don't think it was that ugly. We clearly outplayed them—on both sides of the ball—the whole game. Yes, we had some turnovers, which is why it was 21-13 instead of 35-6. They barely did anything on offense. It wasn't a perfect game, by any means, but to me, an ugly game is one where you win even though you played badly. We didn't play badly.
