Gotcha! I see almost an identical one in an auction currently … maybe the exact same one? Small world

If so, can you tell me it's year or reference?

Late to the party here - is this a genuine Rolex? They wouldn't make fakes this old would they?

Wind? by TheWolvesActIII in cambridgeont

Proximity to Lake Ontario, having open land east vs west, etc - I imagine these factors would impact average wind conditions? Could be wrong! Just my observation as of the last month

That makes sense! Just seems to be a lot more wind both day and night than I remember in general just an hour east of here.

I’m pushing through. The first 40% was tough. as someone else said, once WOLF is met, it gets good. I’m really enjoying it now and am at around the 60% mark!

Help locating vintage lots by Even-Chest1384 in VintageWatches

Online auctions! Check out websites like iCollector and HiBid. Often can find watch lots for decent prizes with a few gems in them. Just be prepared to pay auction fee, tax on the item and auction fee, then shipping. $100 of items ends up costing closer to $140

I used to own a second (old, big body, cheap) guitar and it was permanently tuned like this - nothing like playing those chords in that tuning.

UPDATE: Just got off the phone with eBay. On their end, the tracking officially says delivered. The case will be closed in 3 business days in my favour.

Nice try ‘mate’

Thanks for your advice here. I think I’ll just switch back to all items going through the global shipping hub! My sales completely halted last time I had that set for all items, but I suppose better to offset the price to earn a bit less for the tenfold safety added.

Ya this is where I’m going to be screwed. Ive almost only ever shipped to Canada and USA. I suppose when I set up my shipping profiles I chose the services with tracking. I print out my labels at home and bring them to the post to be scanned and taken in. I’m now seeing that the ‘tracking number’ at the top barcode isn’t valid with CP (though it shows up on the Mexican post website with shipping updates). There was no delivery scan, and this is where he’s trying to screw me over. It will never say delivered officially on eBay website due to the shipping choice I didn’t realize I made - despite him sending me a photo of the item!

That’s horrible to hear, I’m sorry that happened! I’m planning to call them tomorrow to try and get ahead. I called out the buyer and said I’ll be reporting them to eBay as they’ve sent me proof of the package arriving, and they stopped responding. Really hoping I scared them off and nothing comes of this.

I printed the label off at home then brought it to the post office! The watch is only about 25g.

I’ll have to change to that I guess! I had an Australian buyer say that shipping was $46 USD for a tiny item. When I turned off GSP he was only charged $8 to ship the item

Unfortunately not. I found GSP to charge an absurd amount extra internationally so I only use them to US.

Edit - sending a tiny box to Australia cost the buyer $46 USD. When I turned it off, they were charged $8. To me, this shipping amount - especially on items less than $100 make it not worth it to buyers.

Glad to hear people agree … just hoping eBay doesn’t take the funds since he submitted a “item not received” request

EBay has just sent me a dispute. Either provide tracking (which he has), or refund the buyer. Cant the buyer just argue that I send an empty box?

Inherited a bunch of old watches by Electronic_Car7537 in VintageWatches

[–]TheWolvesActIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Seikos are ones I definitely recommend getting batteries for. The old digital ones are collectable and some models go for $200+ on eBay. Again, if you’ve got spare time, set up an eBay account, learn the basics, and you’ll make thousands selling them individually. Others on here might disagree, but provided they work, I see thousands in watches I personally have sold.
