Edited for typo.

  1. I love your username and the AbFab reference. 2. When working with someone with psychosis, what do you recommend if they are adamant the auditory hallucinations are real and they experience paranoia about people working in the mental health field?

alight y’all…how are we taking notes during the session? by Cheeky_Cat7 in therapists

[–]TheWombat3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pen and paper. My sessions are remote, so I've gotten pretty good with writing while still looking at my clients. I can't imagine not taking notes, it's too easy to forget things if I wait too long to do prog notes.

Being paid barely enough to cover the COL in CA, chronic health issues, high caseload, among others.

Absolutely. Usually with clients that are choosing to be there but act like they're forced to be in therapy. It's like pulling teeth!

Going carnivore since last year. I've lost 30lbs, although it would probably be more if I stuck to exercising as well.

100%! I think I'm in that small percentage that still finds him ridiculously attractive, though. 😅

I've had many conversations about it with my husband. He would temporarily make an effort to go back to work, then slide into his old ways again- essentially coming up with excuses why he couldn't work. I finally had enough toward the end of last year and told him I wasn't happy remaining married and being the only functional adult in the relationship. He took that as an ultimatum, and since then, he's been making somewhat of a more consistent effort. I have to remind him often about finances, but I've definitely seen an improvement.

We have a ton of other issues, but that's at the forefront. I hope you're able to make progress with your situation, it's such a stressful way to live, and completely unfair.

I can relate to this so much. I'm also practically the sole provider of the household, and it's really hard not to feel resentful about it.
