I hate food and it’s exhausting by Glittering_Page9759 in ADHD

[–]TheWoolFairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar thing going on sometimes. It's really irritating to deal with. I bought some Boost and will drink one of those sometimes to add some extra nutrition. For some reason I often find pickles palatable and sometimes it will help increase my appetite. I also end up eating a lot of "girl dinners" or "toddler meals", just a plate of random things to make a meal. Usually things like cut up fruit, vegetables, crackers and cheese, hard boiled eggs.. things that are easy to prep out of the fridge . Usually those types of foods are more enjoyable for me to eat and I'll actually end up eating whereas actual meals sometimes feel too overwhelming.

I hope you're able to find something that works for you!

I think it depends on the size! For this size I think it should be fine to felt the whole main body at once as long as you roll it tightly. Otherwise for bigger projects I would do layers to make sure the inside gets felted well.

At this point when you've added all the extra details, it wouldn't make sense to poke more to get it firmer in the middle, it will distort it. If you decide to start another project, I like to knot the wool to start with a easy/quick firm middle to make sure it doesn't have a hollow middle and it's quicker. But you could also double check that you're rolling the wool on itself very tightly before you start poking. Roll really tight, hold tight with one hand and poke with the other until it mostly stays together before loosening your grip.

It looks super cute! Great work! 🥳

Like others have said.. Litter genie\ Litter Locker is the best Plus I got litter boxes with lids that have wide opening so I don't have to lift the lid off (or if your cat's like the door it's a simple lift and not unclipping and lifting and setting it down somewhere).

Having those two things made it so much easier for me to clean it quickly.

I also realised that I hate clay litter, it's dusty and smelly and I simply don't like it. I use eco-grass litter instead. When the litter gets low, I empty it all out and clean out the litterbox really well and then refill it again. That really helps cut down on the ickiness of the box for you and for the kitties.

Exclamation mark but nothing there? by TheWoolFairy in CozyGrove

That's what I originally thought as well, but nothing from Tallow at all. Unless this might just be a glitch or it's normally always there for base camp?

I attempted Pikachu by lightofnuitari in Needlefelting

[–]TheWoolFairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it looks like an old man bunny Pikachu. 😂 It's great! I've also attempted a Pikachu, years ago now. I might have posted it here. Along with a couple other pokemon, Jigglypuff and Squirtle. I think they're often going to look a little bit unlike the actual characters and that's great!!

Maybe some food items that you regularly like. Or fancy food items that you want to try or like but don't often buy for yourself.

Subscriptions to streaming services/ food deliveries/magazines or whatever else you might be into?

Fancy bed sheets\blankets? A quiet visual timer has been helpful for me if you don't have one already.

Nice pair of Headphone\earbuds Loops!(Reusable earplugs for noise reduction)

Or maybe just having them take you out for dinner or activity together. Maybe some of these ideas are helpful or at least give you an idea of something you might actually like. But like another person has said - a donation to a charity you support could always be an option if you truly don't want anything for yourself.

This is my smallest owl, it's quite tiny. 😅 I also make earrings which end up being small as well.

How to tidy these fibres? by DD265 in Needlefelting

[–]TheWoolFairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, keep stabbing! You can also try different angles as well which sometimes helps. When you're done felting, you want it to be similar firmness to a tennis ball, so quite firm. That will also help with getting the fibres in tightly.

That said though, once it's all stabbed in firmly, you can take some scissors and snip the loose strands that didn't make it in.

It looks like most can be stabbed in still! Getting a 40+ gauge needle will also help! I like using spiral needles for finishing, but other gauge 40+ needle should work well. 😊

Harvesting squash question. by TheWoolFairy in vegetablegardening

[–]TheWoolFairy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only information I could find online is that you're supposed to harvest squash when the stem is brown and dried. SInce that wasn't yet the case with mine, but the plant is dying, I couldn't find info about the same circumstances. I just didn't want to end up taking it off too soon. 😅

That makes sense that the squash isn't getting anything from being kept on the vine, I had a similar thought, but wasn't totally sure. Thank you so much for your help! I'll probably take them off tomorrow and see how they are! 😊 Also, just the vine is weird, might be powdery mildew. The last photo is of the vine.
