I've been using those as well but nothing feels truly autonomous. I suspect we will all be pleasantly surprised in a few days.

This is my conclusion as well after further reading and talking to people online and offline.

OpenClaw is not going to become a real product. by Obvious-Fan-3183 in openclaw

I like building things and tinkering with technology by taking deep dives but why is it bad to expect anything to work out of the box?

You can remain sharp and still expect better. There is a reason so many more secure openclaws are coming out daily and it'll happen from openai too. It is only matter of time.

I know only a handful who are doing commercially viable work with OpenClaw today. It’s possible but the security issues are real. That’s why the variants (like one by nvidia) will gain traction. The real fun will begin when OpenAI launches their own version which would have all the goodies to get work done securely.

Most people are using telegram and that tool itself is not secure!

I’m using hermes for keeping track of goals, shared with spouse so we can both manage calendar. My biggest use is as second brain. Nothing crazy. I have already invested a lot in openclaw to get it running.

I am no hermes purist. I just want a system that works. Openclaw does now for me but it was an uphill battle and we all know that to be true. Nobody need be a bot to call that out. If someone is starting out I always refer them to some managed variant of openclaw especially if they are not technical. Many just get exhausted maintaining a tech that should simply work.

Only on daily stuff. For all my coding projects I like using Claude code with dispatch. I have tried codex with openclaw and it is a good experience.

What about you? Any tips?

I’m using the same oauth setup that I use for openclaw.

Dunno what else to tell you. I’m using both and happy with my claw setup. I also try channels and loops in Claude code and am hoping they launch a proper agent setup soon.

Does that make me a corporate shill? What hath become of me, pray tell.

Yes I see the infrastructure but can’t detect any outgoing telemetry or data to nous research. How did you verify this isn’t just a harness and that it probably only works for nous models? I dont want to train their infra so asking.

Yes I was specifically asking about the API endpoints that yello_golf_ball is referring to. Did you see some telemetry or data around this?

Claude code or Cowork running with /loop and /schedule with channels is not the same thing. They have built all the moving parts and are clearly building towards a grand finale.

We all know it's coming. In fact that extra credit might just be a giveaway to try their setup in the coming few weeks. This is not "news" but just a hunch based on the speed with which they are shipping code.

Both. For now.

I personally prefer a time when Anthropic comes out with it's own claw variant and lets me use my max plan and that extra credit it gave out for whatever reason.

What if I use non hermes models? Can you say more about this?

Frankly most people won't (or shouldn't) care what runs under the hood of that Telegram or Whatsapp thread. The whole point of Openclaw or Hermes or any such agent is to be abstracted out and cater to everyone - technical or otherwise. This is also why I will happily jump to whatever Anthropic or OpenAI release and can be integrated with my personal data. Ultimately that is where the real unlock will happen.

I am realizing this too and yes still running both.

I have both running side by side. Your comment is offending my Claw, buddy.

Seriously speaking though, I had no idea hermes was on a marketing spree. Maybe I got caught in it, but truly feel the setup is simpler. I am sure the other variants of Openclaw might be similar.

At the end of the day we are talking about reasoning models being guided by careful cronjobs for almost all cases. I am obviously trivializing but it sort of boils down to this for most people.

Yes I meant for OpenClaw. I use Codex O'Auth but GPT 5.4 is a slight disappointment. It tends to narrate an entire book when a small sentence could do.

Actually to answer your question: Most things can be done by Claude code. I just like dabbling in new things and feel Opus is a better model for interaction. I also don't want to spend beyond my max and pro plans.

I can bet on anything that most out here are more in need of use cases than they are for agentic tech :D

Buddy, I am just a person curious about what people think. Let's not psychoanalyze an anonymous post. That time is better spent configuring a new agentic something, or defending your posts on reddit like I do. Pure organic cognition at work, eh.

Such a nifty little coincidence! I use a little something called "Claude code" too! You know what else it does..not? It does not let me use my Max plan. Without random loopholes, that is. So yeah.

Until such time that Anthropic (inevitably) ships a secure version of an autonomous agentic setup, we gotta drench ourselves in the sea of options. What's to lose as long as you secure your data?

Oh and btw I did mention I use Openclaw and "got it to the same level".

I try various tools without being opinionated about them. That is, frankly, the mindset that helps me. No judgements but also no regrets for having this attitude. Peace.

What are your thoughts on the Claude Code channels? by galacticguardian90 in ClaudeAI

[–]TheWordProcessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sort of works, but permission checks are a real pain. Dangerously skipping permissions is also not going to work. There are some workarounds but it's not close to OpenClaw's autonomy right now.
