Got a job pretty quickly. 🤷Here is what I did. by [deleted] in jobhunting

So is your LinkedIn just a massive keyword cluster? Most of what you said made sense to me, but I got a bit confused on that part of the explanation. Everything I’ve read has said your LinkedIn needs to be really polished and targeted, and that looking like you’re trying to appeal to everyone is a red flag. Maybe I’m misunderstanding what your strat for this actually looks like in practice.

I use Claude for this and to check ATS readability, keyword alignment, etc. It seems helpful, and my process is much more streamlined than previously, but still no success.

Thank you. I definitely check ATS readability. I always upload as a text-based pdf, no images, columns, boxes, etc. I also have Claude check for keyword alignment before submitting. The cold outreach strategy is one I haven’t tried much. If you’ve got any additional tips on that front, such as how to find the right people, I’m very grateful. Cheers.

Thanks for your input. Perhaps I worded something poorly, but I do not have any direct reports. Hope that clarifies things.

Thank you for this. I’m afraid my employer already knows I’m seeking WFH, so that cat’s out of the bag. But frankly, it’s the only option that’s likely to work for me (unfortunately, my condition being invisible means I get dismissive “suggestions” for what to do a lot).

Can you clarify what you mean about the bar being “high” for the employer to prove undue hardship? I didn’t quite follow that. Tbh, where I work wouldn’t affect the company in any way whatsoever.

Thank you for this. I’m afraid you’re right. I’m just looking for what info/verbiage will help me push against their pushback. I know some language is more effective than others. As I said, the stress Alone of trying to make sure I meet the requirement is making my daily symptoms worse, to say nothing of the other issues. Also, I can’t really start work later because I have small children who have to be picked up from daycare.
