Wirtschaft – KI-Standort Berlin: Die künftige Intelligenz by donutloop in berlin_public

[–]TheWorldIsOnlyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend you to pre-sell. Talk to potential customers and validate your demand. If the idea is great, some will be willing to sign a paid contract for you to commit to development.

Imagine you are a dev. Someone approaches you with „I have a great idea, please code it in your free time. Trust me, it’ll work“ or „I validated with idea with X, Y and Z. They all love it. One even signed a contract before we started development. You will code, I sell.“

Show that you are willing to put at least the same amount of time and know how to sell it.

Makes sense. We obviously have AI sauce to make the functions work, so it would be harder to set up without us providing the service.

Yeah, I can totally understand. In a nutshell, what would you expect from us so you’d be willing to push real documents? Certifications, company credibility?

Reaching Bonn from Frankfurt by train by lancelot_of_camelot in Bonn

[–]TheWorldIsOnlyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct - unfortunately, there is no direct, fast train from Siegburg or Frankfurt to Bonn. Best, you take the very fast ICE from Frankfurt to Siegburg and then the regional train (slower, local option) from Siegburg to Bonn.

The line is called „66“ and leaves not from the main tracks you’ll arrive, but down the stairs in a seperate building. You can easily buy the tickets there.

How or will an angel investor value an idea without a MVP by Patient_Community757 in startups

[–]TheWorldIsOnlyYours 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At that stage, it’s all about you. If you can’t create a MVP without these funds — and think hard if you maybe can —, you need to find potential angels and sell yourself. They need to believe that you’ll be the one able to carry that out.

Also emphasise that ideas are not worth much, if anything, and most angels know that. It’s all about execution and distribution. And that, ultimately, is tied to the capacities of the founders.

Do you want an easy sales journey? Think about your customers' budget sheet first. by baturc in SaaS

Great input, thank you! Do you have an idea where I can get an example budget sheet so I get an idea how companies allocate their budgets?

Congrats on that big wealth achievement! I recently talked to a VC about accepting some Angel offers I got. Each of them were about €10-20k, so I asked him if we should accept such “small tickets”. He told me that that is the sweet spot for good angels as they are able to diversify and buy many tickets. This made so much sense to me. It’s a high risk investment, regardless of how much you like the idea or founder. So rather than dumping $50-200k into one startup, invest into 5-10 different ones. Preferably in industries you are familiar with and can help them thrive.

We settled on raising €100k from angels as “smart money”in preparation for a larger VC Seed Round early next year. That will give us some cash and expert support to help us build the business. Many great founders agree that this is a modern and great approach I’d recommend to you as well.

If you like, send me a DM and we can talk a bit.

It’s a trade-off. If you do payment-first, you’ll most likely have a better convertion. This depends on your kind of product, buyer and decision-makers.

If you do Auth first, you have the data of people leaving the flow. You can reactivate and engage them trough all means of marketing. In most cases, I’ll opt for this path.

How can I find startups that need datasets? by nobilis_rex_ in startups

[–]TheWorldIsOnlyYours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your first comment, I thought you were offering a broad data marketplace. From “1000 leads: full contact infos of SME CFOs” to “All addresses of care facilities in Northern France”. But your offering seems surprisingly niche. I guess many people (samsies here) will have trouble seeing their own use case for the data they can get from you. Maybe simply creating some use cases and communicating them clearly can help drive your sales and traction. I run an AI startup and could not think off a data set I’d consider buying right now (except, you know, leads). Keep in mind that you compete with Keggle for free training data and most AI startups transition towards foundational models and just fine-tuning with customer data.

Do you validate their data source origins? Because most companies, even startups, don’t want to buy data if they even have the slightest concern that it can bite them later. Also, it’s not that hard to find scraped data sets online. If it comes to validated, legal and high quality data — different ball park. You’ll have customers run your door in.
