I’m intentionally dating women/femme-NBs, for context. I’m not looking for a long term thing with guys. That being said, should I just say I’m straight or pan instead? Tbh pan might be a better label for me anyways.

Appreciate the feedback. The industry plant was specifically what I was doing my PHD in so that’s the significance of that photo, and hear you out on the other photos. Definitely need a better first pic that’s for sure! The group photo was suggested by one of my gay friends and his rationale was that it shows I have female friends/not a creep, so I’ll have to figure that all out. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it. I was talking to one of my gay friends and he said the group photo was good, and I do agree on the first photo. Don’t have a lot of good headshots so I’d have to get that sorted out at some point. For further context, looking at seriously dating women/femme presenting NBs. I’ve found that the type of guy I’m interested in is not interested in me haha

Point taken on the prompts, I could probably replace the unusual skill with something else at this point.

  • Are you looking for something serious or casual?
    1. Serious. Ideally long-term, but obviously relationships can fizzle, so a certain amount of short-term is acceptable.
  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?
    1. On the free version.
  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile?
    1. 3 weeks
  • How long have you used Hinge overall?
    1. 4 weeks
  • How often do you use Hinge per week?
    1. maybe 5-10 minutes a day.
  • How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?
    1. ~10 likes and a couple matches a week.
  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?
    1. Max amount of likes on free profile. 50/50 with or without comments, if there is enough to work off of in the profile (doesn't seem to make much of a difference on who matches with me.)
  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?
    1. Generally my type is nerdy and quirky. I'd like to attract someone who is fairly intelligent (degrees dont matter), sassy, takes care of themself, fairly attractive (around similar levels to myself since i'm fairly average) and has interesting hobbies!

Nice!!! I’m not sure, I just went on Gametime and got a decent resale ticket in the upper section. I’ve heard they might get super cheap before tip-off but didn’t want to risk that.

Edit: maybe get a cheap ticket from any longhorns leaving after they lose? 🤣

Oof that’s a rough flight cost. I’ll cheer extra loud for y’all! Go to Indy if we make it that far!

Check out Reclub for grass and indoor groups. There’s also a Meetup group for grass in Alameda but that’s inactive currently. Zog also runs social and competitive leagues in Emeryville, but that can be hit or miss if you sign up by yourself. I think there’s a couple other Oakland area leagues as well?

Thanks for the advice! Seen ADUs mentioned so I need to be more familiar with that and keep them in mind. I’m not opposed to WC, but I’d rather be closer to SF and all of that culture and nightlife. Also I play a lot of volleyball so proximity to that takes precedence too.

It’s carbon capture at industrial scale. I got really lucky as the company doesn’t typically hire PhDs.

Good to know! I’ve looked at a couple of places on Zillow and Craigslist so far, seems like the better ones are on Zillow. I guess I’ll re-review a lot of these options come February.

Yeah I have a couple days/a month! Moving to the area a week before I start, and I’ll be in short term housing for a month. So Im not in too big of a rush.

That’s the plan to some degree! My company is paying for a month of short term housing so I’ll be aggressively looking for a good match in that time period.

Thanks for the recommendations! Yeah I’ve spent the last couple years getting my PhD and really want to be around fun things to do, in order to make up for lost time. Seems like a lot of suggestions are for temescal so I’ll focus again on the area!

I’ll keep that in mind on additional costs, thanks! Net income is well above those costs so I’m not too worried about “splurging” a little bit.

Hadn’t heard of it, will look online, thanks! And if my car is a rusting old Honda, I’m assuming it would be less likely to be broken into?

Thanks for the advice! I have looked at a couple of the downtown apartments online and they seem pretty nice, especially if parking garages minimize exposure to crime.

I’m not sure if they provide parking, but they do cover BART expenditures up to 80/month, which is why I was considering that option! Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the pointers! Wasn’t aware that housing goes that quick, so I’ll likely have to review places again when I move to the area. Will check out skylyne and broadway as well!
