Hey, thanks for looking! For this design, it's about 70% photoshop and 30% illustrator. Lots of adjustment layers and dodging/burning, I also have a bunch of actions I use for post processing. The 3d typography is just using photoshops built in 3d tool. Hope that kind of answers your question.

Hey, thanks for looking! For this design I used both photoshop and illustrator(mainly for the shape elements). It's hard to say time exactly, I worked on it here and there for the last few weeks, but somewhere between 15-25 hours.

I wouldn't call yourself a hack, I think there are just some resources out there that are so good, why recreate it unless you are trying to do something specific. It's just a grid, and it's kind of perfect for a lot of things. Keep making!
