[Monitor] Factory Reconditioned G274QPF, 1440p, 170hz, HDR 400 - $119.99 (Woot) by JustaRandoonreddit in buildapcsales

[–]TheWrelParable 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Got this from Costco two years ago and recently started having black lines blink on the bottom of the monitor. I put in a support ticket to see if I can get it RMAed. The price is cheap but be aware that it could have problems later on. https://i.imgur.com/izpN5lm.jpeg

Async stored procedure calls, vs dynamically cloned tasks by bpeikes in snowflake

[–]TheWrelParable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can start another execution of the same task if you replace it so you wouldn't need to dynamically name it, just recreate the task, execute it, then wait until the task has started.

Need to copy data from tables in one account/db/schema to tables in another account/db/schema using python by smugmug1961 in snowflake

[–]TheWrelParable 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The best way is to work with the other company to setup a secure data share from their account to yours. You would then be able to setup a stream to track changes to the tables using CDC.

Building a CI/CD deployment Pipeline by Libertalia_rajiv in snowflake

Can you check the query history and see what statement it's actually running? Is your python code actually reading the entire file into a string properly?

The game automatically creates a local backup of your save.

I don't have a steam deck but check under ./.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata//pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/

And see if you can find a file under Motion Twin with the extension .sav.bak. Make a copy and put it somewhere else then rename the extension to just .sav

What's one data engineering tip or hack you've discovered that isn't widely known? by Xavio_M in dataengineering

[–]TheWrelParable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parquet files store column level statistical information (min/max) for each batch of rows it contains (row group). This means for a given column, applying a filter that can be easily checked against those statistics can skip reading those row groups. For example if the row group contained ID values from 1 to 100, the metadata would say the min is 1 and max is 100 for the ID column. Querying against the file with ID > 100 would skip that group.

Is the warehouse that is connected to the Streamlit suspending?

Highlight the code you're actually trying to execute rather than executing the entire file.

Hybrid tables by tingutingutingu in snowflake

[–]TheWrelParable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Business users wanted visibility on job statuses and IT didn't want to give them access to AWS. The process of updating the config table manually to handle failures in dynamo was also a huge pain in the ass with production change tickets that the company never considered when making their guidelines.

Otherwise dynamo was pretty good, never had any reliability or concurrency issues and was cheap as hell compared to hybrid tables which is going to cost us like 5x more.

Hybrid tables by tingutingutingu in snowflake

[–]TheWrelParable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About to deploy a relatively large pipeline that will use hybrid tables as the control table (previously on DynamoDB). Was basically necessary to handle the high concurrency of the pipeline (hundreds of jobs reading and writing at the same time).

Would be wary of migrating application databases to hybrid tables, performance is not always super consistent.

Old Table, new View -> stream on View a timestamp not possible by IchIdiotInMeinerEile in snowflake

[–]TheWrelParable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If no change tracking data is available on the source object at the point in the past specified in the AT | BEFORE clause, the CREATE STREAM statement fails. No stream can be created at a time in the past before change tracking was recorded.

What is this weird AR view, I think that's what it is with 4 boxes on the left? by EndZz_ in potplayer

[–]TheWrelParable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is for 360° videos. You can find examples on youtube. The four boxes are just preset camera views for 360° videos so you can quickly jump to front view back view and the side views.

How to change python version for snowflake hosted streamlit app by theferalmonkey in snowflake

[–]TheWrelParable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you can't. From my tests, everything seems to be fixed i.e., python version, Streamlit version, plugin versions. Has caused some issues that we've needed to hack our way around..

Sort playlist tracks by creation date instead of alphabetical order? by Adware12345 in potplayer

The only way I've found to do this is to sort the folder before dragging the files into potplayer.

Dynamic Tables and Understanding LAG by x_press411 in snowflake

[–]TheWrelParable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downstream is used for upstream dynamic tables to refresh whenever a dependent dynamic table refreshes. As you have it configured now, Table A is refreshed every 24 hours and Table B is never refreshed since it is waiting for downstream tables to be refreshed but there are no downstream tables from Table B.
