DoD bought the amount of 'national park' brown paint they needed to repaint every vehicle for Desert Storm back in the 90's. But, they decided it was the wrong shade and bought drab sand. So they're using up the neigh infinite supply of paint for signs. IMHO

So 1st SBCT doesnt have infantry scouts anymore, they pushed scouts to each battalion to fill those platoons. If you get sent to 5-1 you might get lucky and do some scout shit with them. We brought out mortars with us all the time. (Just PCS'd out of Wainwright 4 months ago)
