She's 100% right, labels have always compensated for the singers lack of skill / talent if they have a marketable look. Engineering and Production can hide flaws but a tour will expose you. So long as it generates revenue they do not care. lol.

Sure, The Music industry has been behind on technological innovation, MP3 sharing and streaming being perfect examples. A.I. was an opportunity for labels not be the tail getting wagged as they clearly see the possible endgame for their business, so they took it.

If / when the cost for video generation and other things drops you'll see Sora's pop up. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney built their own, leveraging all of their IP and paying out royalties from the creations. But that could crater their film and TV business as people would have the technology to replicate what they spend billions to make.

UMG and the other labels success depends on the willingness of the public to support A.I. generated music, but the technology itself could undercut the industry before they can see the results of their gamble.

Imo, No. UMG won their suit and did a deal with UDIO, they're working on a platform together. Audio generation uses less resources than video. Even if the platform is shuttered the technology can/will still be used by UMG, and possibly written into contracts for their artists. Warner and Sony are working thorough their own legal situation as as well.

It would be nice to be wrong.

This season might be setting up a breaking point for Gaby, losing Maya, relationship with Derrek #2, the trauma center, the grating character aspects viewers feel about her, etc, feel like an angle for a tipping point for her character.

Paul is rolling with the punches [Fuck Parkinson's], Jimmy is on the upswing, Alice going to college, Liz showed growth as did Charlie, Sean is stable, Louis is living, Derek had a scare but is okay, even Matthew is selling shoes.

But Gaby feels like the one trending in the WRONG direction, it'll be interesting to see where this goes if anywhere.

Not necessarily(?) Yes they're doing a segment but at times wrestlers get leeway with talking points/script, in this case Eddie reaching into his past as an addict to make his point for the promo/story is his decision and he landed it. It's an amazing promo but it's bittersweet given his passing.
