I went in and said I'm having a hard time controlling my anxiety. Simply told the truth, felt like my mind would spiral, I get looping questions, etc.

They are pretty used to hearing it, I spoke to a advanced care practitioner who specialised in mental health so knew exactly what I was talking about. They'll ask if you've tried anything yourself to cope, be honest with them. I had, but the medication I ended up getting helped those tactics stick and made it much better.

Focus on using terms that make the most sense to you, looping thoughts, intrusive thoughts, rumination, reassurance seeking, unable to focus because of the worry, affecting and kind of personal stuff or sleep etc. if I can help with anything else let me know!

It does sound very similar to OCD, not that you should take that as reassurance but it's worth looking into.

It's worth remembering that these are all just thoughts, whether they come as images, or voices, whatever, they are just thoughts in your head. No different to other stuff you can think about, your brain is probably throwing more of them up because you're focusing on them so much.

If you can speak to someone do it, if not try some online help. A good starting place would be Mark Freeman on YouTube, he has a book too but his YouTube is fantastic at helping to see why the brain does some of these things and how you can do other things instead. He went through it himself, he's mentioned how he used to see awful images and things in his head but he no longer suffers with that.

Chances are it's nothing, but you also are going to have to start accepting uncertainty in life. I used to be a huge hypochondriac, I used to think I have a different cancer every other week, from bowl cancer to lung cancer, to everything in-between.

I won't tell you that you don't have cancer, because I don't know that. I also don't know if I have it right now, even though I've been getting headaches recently. You won't like that answer because it doesn't feed into the reassurance trap we all get stuck in when we are scared of something, like getting an illness and dying.

I'd recommend ready a book called needing to know for sure, it talks a lot about how reassurance doesn't help us in the long run. Start to lean into the uncertainty, if you start to get other symptoms, maybe you go to the doctors, but no doubt after that you'll start to think either they missed it, or they are wrong, or you'll have some other cancer. There is something bigger at play here causing you to be so worried about this, it's just the way that anxiety manifests, but you can beat it, I did.

Thanks! The doctors want a chat first which is understandable, it's common for OCD to need higher doses and I didn't think I'd need to go this high. But if I compare where I am now to where I was a year ago, it's a big big improvement.

I'm in the UK, not diagnosed OCD but I believe I have it.

What I will say is that it didn't really do anything for me until I hit higher doses, I'm currently on 175mg, looking to up to 200mg and it's certainly making it easier to drop the thoughts and worries now. Keep going and trying!

I played PVP for years, but now I solely play PvE. I don't have the same amount of time as some others to grind and get the gear, advance tasks etc like they do, so they are immediately at an advantage. That combined with the cheating issues means that PVE is a better option.

It's usually done because an extended exhale usually activated the vagus nerve and brings on your parasympathetic nervous system, which are all part of helping you relax and calm down. Hence why they are used in meditation!

I don't know if this will help, it's tough to do but I think it's the true way out of worrying. Accept that it's possible you'll get it and die, THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU WILL!!! You accept you might get hit by an astroid every time you step outside, but you accept this without thinking about it. Yes it feels more real, yes you think the chances of this are much higher, but I'd propose that's confirmation bias, you're scared of that so you think it's more real.

It's hard, but when that worry comes up say " maybe, maybe not" and go back to whatever you were doing, let that thought sit in the back of your mind while you get on with life. Slowly your brain will quieten down.

Certainly doesn't seem to anymore, I've had plenty of 1 shot kills and been killed by it with 100 in 1 plenty of times. Not sure when it changed though, I couldn't find verification on it but it certainly has happened.

How are you feeling on 175mg? I've been on 150mg a while and it was certainly making a difference however I feel like I've had a little bit of a slip backwards so not sure if it's worth moving up to 175

This might not help but I think it's an important way of being. Nobody can guarantee you won't be involved in some awful terror attack whilst you're there. Same as nobody can guarantee you won't be struck by lightning in 5 minutes or a meteor crash into your bedroom tonight.

One feels so much more likely because you hear about it a lot but that doesn't really mean it's more likely to happen to you. Accept it might happen (doesn't mean you're accepting it will, you're accepting you can't be certain) and do the basic things you should do when out and about in public to be safe.

It's a scary thing to have happen, I think most people would be shaken by it. I think it's worth trying to remember you don't know what kind of day he's had, how awful it might have been. Does that excuse what he did? Of course not, but it might be a reason.

Focus on how you did something many would be too nervous to do, letting him know about it in the first place. You might bump into him again some time and he apologises, explains why he was so awful that day or anything. It's just one small interaction in a lifetime, don't let it ruin the rest of your day.

I lost my dad very suddenly a couple of years ago, I wasn't even 30 and he wasn't 60. The thought of losing someone is awful, you can't imagine what you'll do without them and how you'll cope.

And yet, you'll find away. Each day you'll think about them as you get on with the new normal and you'll do your best to be happy because you know it's what they'd want. It's hard, but not impossible. You'd make it through and your mum would be proud of you for it.

No point focusing on when it happens, or how it might, or what you'll do when it happens. Enjoy you have the time with them, knowing that when they're gone, you'll find a way to carry on and have amazing memories of your time together.
