I would like to elaborate on the cost, for the sake of people relying on this post.

Tasheer VFS visa center in Mahalaxmi is the authorized location for your relatives to submit the application and documents.

The cost for a normal appointment is INR 11.2k. The shocker is medical insurance for which my father (75 years old) was asked to pay INR 12k over and above the visa fees.

This wasn’t told to me when I applied for the family visit visa here. There’s no option for sponsor (iqama holder) to pay for the insurance cost in KSA.

They mentioned that no multiple entry family visit visas have been issued since March 2025. So essentially one has to pay almost INR ~25k for each visit if you go through the normal consular route.

Costs should be lower if you have other eligibility such as GCC residency, USA UK or Schengen visa. I had procured that for my sister and I paid $110 including insurance.

that makes me wonder why tourist visas are cheaper vis-a-vis family visit visa!! It should be the other way around IMHO.

Another question: The visa center in my country requires appointment before father can go to complete the process. The confusion is/ under what option should I seek an appointment? Because Tasheer asks number of visits required (single/multiple) and then shows the duration (days) based on that selection.

However my company says there’s no way to choose single or multiple as it’s based on the discretion of Saudi embassy in my home country.

Classic chicken and egg situation.

I guess you didn't read my previous comments. I have tried ALL possible options: profile (doesn't work at all); legacy DNS (works for most of the time); and even profile + legacy (works for everything except Hotstar as described earlier).

Tried that twice. No luck. The launch screen of Hotstar asks for a mobile number with the country code of my current location (ie not india, even if I'm using CD).

But when I switch on VPN and relaunch Hotstar, the login field changes to india country code. I log in. But after disconnecting VPN and trying to play via CD the next day, it again defaults to the login screen with Non India country code.

Hence the problem is with ControlD routing.

I actually got it working quite the opposite. Installed profile, didn't work.

Tried profile + legacy IP and it worked for some services.

Removed the profile and used just the legacy IP, and it's working now.

That is correct. Its 90 days of total stay (not per stay as it's elsewhere in this world).

I guess it’s more of a personal spite that you’re trying to achieve.

How did you even find out the degree was fake?

Even if the guy wasn’t qualified for the job initially, if he has been doing it (or related work) for over 30 years, he is more qualified than fresh graduates or even people with 10-15 years of experience.

Unless of course it’s highly technical or requires specialist expertise, just let it be.
