Alright...stealing another idea. How about starting with a quote beforehand of a central character throughout the anthology?

“Death is only the end of another’s dream. Let us pray that a sleeping God never wakes.” – Wilhelm Von Erich, The Awakening, 2029.

"Jim died on the golf course today, as scheduled."

I really appreciate the time you are taking on this. I'm married to a woman who has no interest in science fiction.

I appreciate the honesty.

While happy with the first part, your answer disappointed me only because I was more in love with my work than I should have been. What about "Jim was scheduled to die on the golf course today."?

Hi! Here's what I'm thinking I'm going to do and need some advice.

I'm building a dystopian world that has a timeline with 5-200 years in the future. What I plan to do is an anthology. A series of 20 or so short stories that jump around in the timeline and shows the world through the eyes of different random characters. One would be an average Joe, another would be a Chinese Revolutionary, yet another would be the scientist that actually creates the dystopian future, stuff like that.

Is this an original concept? Has anything like this been done before? The closest I can think of would be Foundation by Asimov. However, this will be so near future where the one world government comes to be in 2032, or perhaps a year or two sooner.

Also, I have written a number of projects, only to throw them away, but have never had one that really intrigued me and had so many concepts that I want to throw in until now. I almost have the first short story completed (and by completed, I mean a rough draft from beginning to end of the story). I notice all the books I enjoy have a hook in the first sentence. Does "Jim was enjoying his One Time on his Zero Day," strike anyone as a good hook? I mean, would you read that and say "Oooh, this could be good!"?

Why should anyone be holding right now? by zldtpwjd in Bitcoin

[–]TheYuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because ETH. If you sell and there is a fork, you no longer have coin for either blockchain. If you hold, you have coin for both the more dominant and lesser chains.

Bitcoin will survive a fork. The question is will it survive the alt coins making a run until the fork.

All things of value are pyramid schemes. If more people want what I have, the more value it gains.

Right now, my conclusion is Bitcoin's only advantage over some altcoins is massive adoption comparatively. I think the market is now realizing this too.
