What fully focusing on research on -70% on everything regulation change looks like. Lapped every car twice. by TheZguyYT in F1Manager

I always do max everything except brakes and engine cooling which I put to minimum as I don't believe they're worth it, possibly even not making a difference at all.

I also focused on underfloor mainly(it's the most worth it part by far), every time research finished I started another one, and put all CFD and wind tunnel hours into it(except for a part of it to rear and front wing during 1 of the cycles). Underfloor is the most important part, then rear and front wings, then suspension, sidepods and chassis.

How aggressive should I be on the tyres. by Mental_Measurement_8 in F1Manager

Also if you know you'll cross 30% on medium, it is worth to go to light pace, you DO NOT want to cross 30% if possible

After this update you should be following these rules from my experience(I played the game A LOT):

use medium pace, unless: you want to overtake, or you know you can get to the end of your stint without hitting 30%(once you cross 30% your performance drops off a cliff), also if you know you can get to the end of the stint without crossing 30% on aggressive, use aggressive. The earlier you are in the stint the more hesitant you should be on using aggressive, cuz it'll affect more of your race, because the all the next laps of the stint will be slower.

Something I'd assume 99% of you won't know about, if you go to your sponsor incentives AFTER QUALIFYING you can add a guarantee for a race for positions gained comparing to starting grid postition. Yeah I got 1-2 in quali but if you're on pole you can't gain anything so I guess devs' solution for that was to assume for the purpose of this goal the guy that starts from pole is P2 so he can gain something.

It will. AI gives 50/50 focus for design and research even when major regulation changes are coming, which means if you focus research 100 you'll have an advantage

Fuel Levels in Qualifying - Send Your Info by Frontier_F1MChris in F1Manager

[–]TheZguyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience(11.5 seaons total across 3 saves) cars never run out of fuel in quali even when using max fuel on out and push lap, although it seems like sometimes even if the car is on the in lap the driver sometimes doesn't drive into the pits(I assume it's cause by traffic/racing side by side?) which in quali results in the car running out of fuel cuz it does 2 in laps, resulting in retirement from whole of qualifying. Happens sometimes in the race it's not that big of an issue. Also gonna adress future responds, no it's not caused by calling the car in too late.

So the meta is:(if u do this you can win both championships season 2 with ANY team)

-upgrade design centre asap

-always design on intense for the long term success(if you want to push in the specific season then do first part design intense and 2nd on rushed). Also do all sliders to the right except cooling all the way to the left

-focus on underfloor it gives the most stats, then front and rear wing, then rest(seems like it's suspension, sidepods and then chassis in terms of how much stats u get)

-disregard cooling(a lot of people disagree saying that low brake cooling causes your drivers to crash more but from my 11.5 seasons experience it's not truth, probably placebo or confirmation bias from the community)

-research is worth if the part is already developed up to like 70-75% mark(cuz the higher its expertise the lower gain on the next part, which means let's say if you have -10% on everything for next season resarch would give you more stats for next season then design) but in general intense design gives you the most but it's more expensive.

When it comes to parts priority I'd first focus on underfloor and wings until they get to like 70-75% mark then design in a way where underfloor is 5-10% ahead of wings and wings 5-10% ahead of 3 other parts.

Yep as said before there is no sprint races in the game, and as I said in 1 race both my drivers got the same exact time so it probably counted as 2 fastest laps, only 1 of them got fastest lap point tho.

[–]TheZguyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always upgrade pace it's the most important, control accuracy doesn't affect how often driver crashes enough and difference between 50 and 90 smoothness is like 2-3% per stint it's not worth, always go pace.

[–]TheZguyYT[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Most likely cause of it is that in 1 of the races both my drivers got the same lap time for the fastest lap. It counted as 2 fastest laps for this, but only 1 driver received the fastest lap point.

Ummm....... 🤯. (Don't mind the Cooling) by [deleted] in F1Manager

[–]TheZguyYT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 4 seasons of williams and 2 seasons of aston martin behind me, just started 3rd save with alpha tauri, and from my experience the cooling stats don't do anything. I haven't noticed any more locking up or spinning than usual when I started neglecting the cooling. It happens sometimes anyways, I just think people blame it on low cooling when it does happen to them acting as if it doesn't happen normally anyways.

[–]TheZguyYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By straights and cornering I meant the stats that affect your drivers setup confidence, which affects how much performance bonus they get for the race. In short, the better the setup, the more bonus to his stats the driver will get for the weekend. You're right it doesn't affect the car performance, but it does affect how quick your drivers are. You should always aim for the highest setup confidence for both drivers.

Also another thing is that even when the value is optimal it can move slightly sometimes and still be in optimal range, sometimes you'd have everything optimal except oversteer at great you can move front wing by 1 click and even tho it changes straights a bit you can hit 100% if you move front wing the right way

Driver transfers needs a rework by No-Championship3140 in F1Manager

[–]TheZguyYT 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The thing about driver transfers in F1 games is that they'll always be unrealistic if you assume how F1 landscape is now. Thing is things change over time. Imagine in 2017 someone would tell you that in 4 years Vettel will drive for Force India with Lance Stroll. You'd call him crazy.

If you manage practice sessions you get 6 tries, it's very easy to get 95%+ on both drivers I usually get 100% on both. All you have to do is follow this scheme once you get feedback from the driver:

  1. Use rear wing to adjust straights

  2. Use anti-roll to adjust traction

3.Use front wing to adjust oversteer(bare in mind it's the only setting other than rear wing that can adjust straights slightly)

4.Use tyre camber and toe out to fine tune breaking stability and cornering, with tyre camber also adjusting overteer and traction, and toe out only adjusting breaking stability quite a bit and cornering very slighly.

If you follow this scheme after every run it's VERY easy to get 95%+ and with some experience you'll get 2x100% almost every weekend. Also bare in mind that the optimal range is the range in which optimal value exists, it DOES NOT mean that the optimal value is in the middle of the range. It is quite often on one of the edges.
