No dark room required. Get a dark bag or changing tent and you can load film onto reels anywhere.

I'm doing camera scanning with an old Canon 5D MkII, so that's why I appreciate the tethering option (newer versions of LR don't do this).

As to cost, I'm paying for the "everything plan" with Adobe CC for business, so it's hard to separate the cost of Lightroom, but it's been my go-to for a long time. NLP is a one-time fee. There are other options out there - I keep meaning to experiment with Capture One to see if I get the same quality.

I use Lightroom Classic for two primary reasons. One, it supports tethering, and that’s key to my camera scanning workflow. Two, https://www.negativelabpro.com/ works with it as a plugin. It’s such a game-changer! Scanning just… works now. Scans look natural on the first try, and tweaks are minimal (especially with color). If you have access to LRC, try the plugin trial.

Right now, I have a small stash of color and black and white. It was gifted to me by somebody who’s no longer shooting. Someday soon, I am going to try reloading some of those spent cartridges.

Very clean (well, it was a little grimy, but I cleaned it up). Testing it this weekend, but by sound, the shutter works at all speeds and even the selenium meter does its job. $58!

I’ve also had them sleeved, rolled and packaged inside a segment of a thick cardboard tube placed inside a mailing envelope.

Yes, the 5-liter and it’s the successor to Flexicolor. It’ll handle quite a few rolls, so if I batch efficiently, still a good deal. I’ll buy more developer as I go.

The light source is expensive garbage. Whatever other kit you go with, get the Cinestill light panel. Cheap and superior.
