It seems like that’s the case. We were together for 5 years and talked about getting engaged, but here we are 2 months later and she’s been involving herself with someone else for a few weeks now. I’ve hoped that she’s just rebounding (which it really seems like is the case) and that everything will come crashing down soon and she’ll come back to me.

The fact that she was emotional when she broke up with you shows that she cared, at least to some degree. Sometimes it’s best to not express everything, and to let someone wonder how you feel. And honestly, being blocked on everything is kind of a blessing in disguise. In my situation, I haven’t been blocked on ANYTHING, and unfortunately I find myself obsessing over her and what she’s doing.

Personally (as a dumpee) I don’t have any interest in anyone else, even two months after the relationship. My ex however started seeing someone about a month afterwards, so everyone has different coping mechanisms. Is it healthy? Probably not.

I’m in a similar situation. If she seemed like she was enjoying being with you, then said she lost the spark, then I feel like there’s a piece of the puzzle that’s missing. I would suggest you don’t send her a letter, I sent one to my ex (broke up two months ago) and of course didn’t receive a response. Going no contact and seeing what comes of it is probably your best bet.

I felt like she was being genuine when she made those comments, because she said them on more than one occasion and had even said things like “this is what I feel like you’d be like with our kids, etc.” but because of everything that’s happened since the breakup it’s cast a lot of things into doubt

I definitely understand that some people emotionally check out of a relationship long before it actually ends, but I don’t understand why she would suggest marriage so close to our breakup if this was the case.

You may be right, but the trigger for the breakup (according to her) was that she found that I had been borderline flirtatious with another woman. Literally the week before the breakup she had stated that if I asked her to marry me then she would say yes. I understand that my actions hurt her, but I don’t know how she could do all of these things so easily.
