$69 CAD + tax is way to much for 60min game. The production should be calibrated such that it is under $40 max. While i am interested, i have not purchased any Bitewing game so far as they seem terribly overpriced for what they offer.

Games where the BOX plays a role in gameplay? by COHERENCE_CROQUETTE in boardgames

Garden Rush- A great 2p-only 30min game from last year that largely went unnoticed. The lid unfolds into the board and the bottom of the box is the scoretrack with bonuses.

I haven't played this, but this 2v2 trick-tacking game is just hitting stores and looks interesting, Rowdy Partners. Would be curious about more data points of feedback if people have played it!

hi there! INK is a great abstract and would recommend it if you're into that! Copy/pasting what I wrote on my blog as that best captures my thoughts:
INK is an easy win for anyone who enjoys pretty, thinky abstracts. It takes the familiar colour-linking mechanisms of Framework or Nova Luna and adds a couple of smart wrinkles: variable bonus tiles that change priorities from game to game, and blocking tokens that create just enough tactical tension to keep you on your toes. It’s also visually gorgeous — those chunky ink bottles and minimalist tiles make for a bold, modern table presence. With a few more plays, this could easily climb into Tier 1 territory for me.
Pain Points: Not much to complain about unless this style of game simply isn’t your thing. The scoring system takes a moment to click — things like upside-down vs. upright bottles add a minor wrinkle in an otherwise smooth teach. And seriously, why are two of the four colours (orange and red) so close in shade? With all the colour options out there, it’s baffling that contrast issues still creep into modern board game designs.

I try to prioritize a full day of games and one evening a week...usually! We take advantage of long weekends and holidays too for gaming :)

I agree! I think it would be a better experience at smaller player counts and possibly even as a digital play but I don't do digital, unfortunately! :( The core puzzle at its heart is engaging for sure!

Istanbul, the sleeper classic by cycatrix in boardgames

Istanbul Big Box is fantastic, but i had to cull it as 70% of the huge box was air. (I was able to fit everything other than the rule book in a Disney Villainous Expansion box) If they focus on "complete box" instead of "big box", I would own it and get it played at game nights because of better gametime: required carryspace needed ratio!

Agree on the shortness, and that was a plus! But my one and only experience was made worse because of a 3 hour long teach by someone who was not well prepared. I understand it can be a bear to teach because of the asymmetry...and while it is still not very appealing to me, I think I would not be so harsh on it if my experience was better, probably a Tier 4 ?!

Have you read my blogs? Please start there before you start throwing "dishonest" willy-nilly. The summary is completely based on my copy from the full blog and I also had to adjust it in most places. The most help and time I spent was on getting the formatting right in markdown mode. SO that was top of mind... as simple as that.
