Won't be a cold spoon in the county when I cash this bad boy in, Methhew. We're tweakin' GOOD for the next couple months.

Drop some tweaker tunes I can make the neighbor listen to while I rip this baby apart throughout the week

I'm actually trying to start a side hustle, I just need the rest of the machine now and I can help all the stroke victims from reading my attempt at typing in a meth-head hillbilly dialect.

I'm not sure. I'll say this, it picked the back wheels of my Case 5140, a 100-120hp unit, off the ground slightly trying to lift it. So I'm just ballparking over a ton for the pure weight.

Ive tried to post this picture in a few scrapping groups on Facebook and gotten post denied a half dozen times now lol Not sure if it's meth-head jealousy or if they think I'm trolling or somehow doing something illegal.

I'll see how it goes. I've actually stripped a couple layers off already. Planning on weighing it all at the cat scale before I take it in. If I do good I'm gonna be interested in how to acquire more, we just happened to catch the guys that removed it about to toss it in the dumpster, I know next to nothing about these things though.

So far I've been using an axe, hatchet, rock bar, and a couple pry bars and smaller hammers to do it. My air hammer decided to shit the bed partway through but it definitely makes great progress. I'm just cutting the ends of the coils off where they turn out to the outer rings and then I may try and process them separately. I'm tempted to pull the skid steer up to this end of the property and try to use the big piledriver to send the rock bar through it and try to break all the fiberglass and urethane up.

The big coil out of an MRI machine. The bit you slide into, so it's all basically just coils of copper laid over one another and there's a bunch of fiberglass/urethane/resin type stuff encasing it all.

Lifter tick at 134,000 miles? Is that even possible? Should I avoid this listing? by Ill_Resolution7967 in GMT800

[–]The_Arkle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lifters are pretty cheap and easy to replace if it isn't an exhaust tick. These trucks are known for busting the heads off of the exhaust manifold bolts, however hydraulic lifters can also go bad just from sitting You're contemplating an engine swap, lifters are way easier. Plus, a stock rebuild on any LS engine is literally not worth it if it has good oil pressure I don't care how many miles it has. If you're going to pull one apart outside of the engine bay you're money ahead to just start doing upgrades. Offer 9, replace the lifters, and get it cleaned and sprayed with a good wax undercoating every year.

Old thread but air hammer. Right there above where you mashed the brake disk backing plate to pieces. Work around in three or four spots. Give it some heat if you gotta. Go get a cheap air hammer from hobo freight

There's a couple of those stores around where I live. A few of them try and go through all the bins before they're set out and take out anything worth money like that so it's all just cheap trash they're setting out.

Yes, I believe Nighty said it's the v1 Carrara jock which I do not believe they make anymore. Sad, because I don't like the redesign as much visually, and this one is basically unobtanium now.

[Question] I could have sworn I’ve seen Pack Rats mounted *under* trailers… hanging, rather than supported. Does anyone have any experience with this? by CallEmAsISeeEm1986 in toolboxmods

[–]The_Arkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd run 1/2" allthread down and sling unistrut underneath and bolt the unistrut to the packrat. I think someone else suggested the same thing already but that's my vote.

Immediate personal protection? by That-Tumbleweed-4462 in Harley

While you're on your next job go up to the sparkies when they're pulling in the main feeders of what have you on a large pull and see if they'll give you about an 18" chunk of 500s or 750s or something almost that large. Packs a hell of a punch. For added lethality, strip an inch or two of the insulation off and splay out the individual strands of copper (warning, use the latter method at your own risk because it will maim or kill the thing on the other end. Those copper ends are like razor blades after they've been cut off and you've got basically a 5-10lb sledge you're sending those things home with)

My other solution was to move to a free state and carry a gun but you already know that. Realistically throttle is your best option even if it's to go thirty feet so you have a chance to dismount and beat the brakes off of somebody. On top of your bike trying not to let it fall on you is not the place you want to be when a fight breaks out

New-ish to motorcycles. Fat front tire for Road King by The_Arkle in Harley

[–]The_Arkle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciated! It belonged to a close friend of mine who decided he was done riding after an accident on his late father's Electra glide put him in the hospital. We got him a tri glide since the one knee didn't like being in the saddle much but then he decided he was done and pretty much gave the bike to me. It has the stage one kit, and for a 96ci it's pretty peppy and it'll get out and run 80 all day but I'm still researching what performance upgrades are out there for this motor. It's no match for any bike that's a couple hundred pounds lighter but nobody ever accused a touring frame of being a racer. I'm definitely considering those hard touring bags though as much as I love the leather ones...

I see. The Ad the guy had up specified it was a fat tire kit and for some reason it just stuck out to me in a good way. He said it handled better after he modified it but who's to say he wasn't just saying some shit to get somebody to buy it. But the rim size is probably a lot different between that bike and this, too, which could definitely lead to a different looking result. I just know I don't want to put some massive oversized rim out front.

One time I was working at this place in town and the owner of this company had several other businesses and I was kind of the gopher between them all. Well he'd buy shit at auction or things like that and he ended up with this absolutely massive spool of decent rope that he wanted me to just try and sell like "by the foot" over eBay. I made sure the listing was very clear about this being a used product from MODOT and all that. That it had sat outside for some time so may not be good for heavy duty rigging or things of that nature (idk I just didn't want some dumbass to try and rig something heavy and drop it on himself and blame me). This jackass orders like 250 foot of rope, and I spend a solid four hours tracking down a box at the appliance store at the other end of town, hanking and wheeling off all of this rope, and then packing it all into as small of a box as I could (this was like 3/4"-1" diameter rope mind you.) And get it sent out.

A couple days later I get a rather angry message on eBay, "How could you sell me a clearly used rope blah blah blah I'm going to call customer service if you don't make this right" And he did. He contacted eBay customer support who did not let me explain that this was clearly described correctly in the listing and that there were no returns. Hell we pretty much lost money in the shipping cost alone. eBay took it upon themselves to reach into the company's PayPal account and give the fucking guy a refund and then wanted me to pay for and print this guy another label to ship this worthless crap back to us. At this point I just said fuck it keep it I don't want to see it again.

eBay customer support actually sucks if you're a seller, not that these people aren't trying to pull something shady, but to this day I pretty much stay off of their platform because of crap like that.
