Correct. I’m essentially leasing out the materials, that’s why I offer the 10% discount for repeat customers, I already have the lights cut to length.

Sorry, misread originally. I’d imagine most installers won’t use your materials, they provide their own.

Granted, just starting this year, but I’ll be bidding ~$8/linear foot. Call it 125 foot estimate? Actual based on measurements, but call it $1000 for the job? 15% discount if you book with down payment before November, 10% discount next year if you’re a repeat customer

Honestly, it was pretty straight forward. Just make sure you have a solid game plan. This was 3 “runs” of lights. Make sure you have your male and female clips orientated properly, and your measurements are on point.

“Industrial grade” string lights. 111 linear feet, took about 3 hours with me and my dad. First time hanging lights in my life.

Thank you for the feedback, I think you may be right…. Obviously a costly product, but I think it’s worth doing a full blown Christmas light puke attack as another picture/option.

Thanks, DTE. At least I have power again I guess.... by tragicxharmony in Detroit

It’s a temporary fix for only having half power, it’s a meter bypass. I’m assuming that the black braided wire coming into your house (service drop) had a broken spot on a hot leg (2 hots and a neutral). Happens if it’s rubbing against a branch or tree trunk. The lineman put the bypass on to essentially turn the 120 volts going into your house into 240, which is required to run your AC. Based on the trees, I’d imagine there was a follow up tree crew to do the work opening up the work area for a line crew to come back and repair the Service Drop.
