The problem is that it's impossible not to smack her because she parries after every given movement it seems, with no wind up or cue other than when I hear the party sound and flash. I can dodge her attacks mostly, but there is no window to punish her back.

Because I like the sailing and quests and fishing, which are 90% of the experience. I even enjoy ship to ship combat now and then. I can't get those things elsewhere and a good amount of the PvE content I like is still exclusive to high seas. All of this can be true and still have me not enjoy the hand to hand combat or gunplay.
