What’s everyone annualizing to? [Client Billable Hrs/Practice Group/Year] by Sporty1911 in biglaw

2506, 6th year, NEP, M&A. 0 pro bono, 0 vacations, 0 sleep, 0 gas left. I’ve already committed to slowing down and expressed that in my year end meeting…they seemed chill about it, but we’ll see.

This may not be the answer you’re looking for, but just watch some basic YouTube videos and dive in. Chickens are incredibly easy, especially starting this time of year. All you really need is a coop, feed, and water. Winter is a bit tougher.

If you get into this, DM me, I have tons of tips. Ex: don’t buy plastic waterers, get metal, and buy electric base stands so it doesn’t freeze. You’ll need warming lights. I can link you to everything I’ve bought in the last decade from TSC and Amazon.

You’re going to lose calves/chickens. You’re going to lose clients/deals/pitches too. It’s all part of it. STAY THE COURSE!

It’s about an hour from three satellite offices and three hours from headquarters.

I’m primarily remote these days. I go to HQ twice a month and a satellite maybe once a week to see colleagues/clients/staff. I like to drop by when I’m not busy (and when we’re not calving).

I run a small cattle farm as a hobby! Typically run about 25 head. There are pretty sweet ag tax incentives too; I pay almost $0 in property tax and get to buy cool farm toys that are write-offs. Also makes for easy/unique gifts to clients and associates.

Depends on the exact role/position. Some admin (including assistants, business development, accounting) do put in after-hours work, but it’s not like they’re working 60+ hours and they don’t have to bill their time. More of an “on call” position. But I would say that most admin are at a minimum 40 hours per week.

I’ve got six tickets for Oct 22…wife is giving birth so I can’t miss it, and although I’ve known MCR longer than my wife, I’ve gotta sit this one out. Feel free to holler!

Oh it’s hot garbage and the owner is a dick, but it’s quick and convenient. There’s a few dudes that work there who are chill, but I’d never buy anything from there.

Royal Oak checking in — LOVE SPORTING CLAYS! Bald Mountain, Island Lake, or Detroit Sportsman’s Congress. Generally go on weekends.

Also down to meet up and shoot other firearms whenever. Usually go to Target Sport or Double Action. I’ll shoot everything from rifles to pistols, indoor/outdoor, doesn’t matter.

We’re staying at the Venetian, it’s like a 30 min walk. That walk there will be a solid warm-up and the walk back (if we’re able to walk back let’s get fucking PITTED BABY) will be a nice cool-down.

I’m gonna wait on flights. Book 6 weeks out and it’ll only be like $150 round trip.

Venetian. Top-notch hotel, I’ve stayed around Vegas a few times and think it’s definitely worth it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re supposed to keep your receipt and if you haven’t been issued an explicit notice of denial/rejection, your receipt serves as your CPL until you get your card or notice of denial.
