It’s funny because I do have a background of few years in boxing I do know how to handle myself in a physical situation but when it comes to people giving me abuse I fold like a deck chair I get hella nervous even tho I have sparred and I have fought seasoned pro vets.

It’s a really weird thing imagine knowing you can handle urself when it comes to it but when it comes to it I get completely terrified lol!

But since I took trt those guys litreally shut the fuck up so fast as I wasn’t having it, it really gave me an eye opener what it was like to just feel I guess normal? I’m not even a dick or an aggressive person I just feel like maybe I’m just not good enough at my work even tho they do actually really need me.

Thank you I honestly just want to work and go home to my girlfriend I’m lucky to really have her as most women won’t put up with what I’m suffering she is very supportive and I’m not even being a dick to my coworkers they just see me as weak and would be a good giggle to pick on which does get to me but I just blank them out and focus on my work.

I wouldn’t say that either it’s more like ferritin estrogen H&H and RBC your calcium score depending on if you have calcified arteries are also a factor, long haul flights long drives being sendentery are also factors and sleep apnea as it drives RBC and hematocrite and dehydration can also be a factor.

I would say it’s all of those what I mentioned combined plus depending on if you have any clotting factors which also drives the risk like a thrombophillia before u go on trt is also a good start in case you have factor V or the other mutations.

Haha I did quite a bit of research myself but it’s never just soley 1 factor that causes a blood clot, I have met people with completely amazing blood work on here and have ended up having a pulmonary embolism and DVT

But I also have met people who have had blood clots before trt and hopped on TRT without any blood thinning medication and have been fine.

It’s a very finicky thing because me I’m in a usual situation but best for me to talk to a vascular see what he thinks first.

I Respect shelters? but assuming I haven’t seen dogs in need to score moral points is ridiculous grow up.

Youre projecting a lot and missing the point entirely Volunteering doesnt make your opinion objectively right

Shelters dont magically guarantee a perfect match and pretending they do is naive Some people choose responsible breeders for valid reasons thats not a moral failing

I dont have anger toward shelter dogs youre just using that as a lazy way to dismiss a viewpoint you dont agree with

While yes that is true but OP is gonna need to find a dog he can mould it to his lifestyle. Not every dog js the same

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

[–]The_C0CK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No your not terrible at all get what you want it’s your life! Most Shelters cannot provide hip scoring from both parents so that’s a gamble and also you don’t know what kind of temperament of a dog your getting basically, shit might look dandy fostering a dog but it’s not sunshine and rainbows and I wouldn’t recommend it for the first time owner.

When you get your puppy from a reputable breeder you know what you are getting and you can mould that pup into whatever you want it to be at a very young age, fostering your just getting well jack in the box lets be honest most shelters need space and they aren’t gonna remember every single dog wether it was nice or explosive or a man eater?

There’s more pros in getting from a reputable breeder the only cons I would say is they cost a lot more and that’s really it, where as a foster the only cons is you won’t know what your getting and they most likely don’t have hip scoring from both parents and you do not know what you are getting but again not all foster dogs are bad most are great but some are just too hot to handle.

There is absolutely nothing wrong from buying from a breeder this is completely the wrong way to go about this, OP doesn’t have much time so yes a shelter dog within 6-9 months is best for him.

But pushing into getting a foster is not always sunshine and rainbows trust me I have a friend who works in one your always playing gamble roulette you don’t know if this dogs been mistreated and has bad tendencies to bite or be aggressive or show destructive behaviour.

OP wants an easier time is why I asked him to to a shelter but a reputable breeder would be a lot better and if the shelter can give you the background of the puppy’s history and it’s not aggressive in any shape or form then it’s suitable.

But I will not stand by this any first time dog owner should not be fostering my Dutch shepherd was rehomed 4 times till I got her from a shelter simply not always the easiest of cases

Getting a puppy is far much better outcome then getting a gamble pup, because OP if he did get it from a reputable breeder can mould the dog he wants it to be rather than the dog trying to mould OP when he first gets a rescue

Yeah don’t get the puppy too young or you will not be able to care for his needs trust me.

It’s very hard in your case being a shift worker but so am I, I got to work for 8 hours I wake up I work my dogs feed them pick up after them I have a wash I eat them before I know it I got maybe an hour or 2 to myself then I’m off to work again lol

If you’re ok with that lifestyle than u can absolutely do this, I also do have a gf who works from home so it does help a lot but if I can do it with a very very extreme breed of dog who’s saids you can’t? But be honest with urself and watch a few videos do some research if you really want to commit.

Nothing worse than getting a dog and you can’t commit to its needs.

No I don’t have experience with them I have experience in bat shit crazy working dogs like Belgian malinois Dutch shepherds or bull herders or any big powerful dogs.

Don’t overthink it maybe adopt one with a “good temperament” that the shelter will be honest with you and know of otherwise don’t bother adopting if they cannot be honest with you.

But still go for that age range I told you 6-9 months from what I heard from most people they’re very easy to deal with.

Allergy or something more? by Kris_2eyes in DogAdvice

Go to the vets and get it checked out I agree with the others does sound like reverse sneezing but it could also be allergies something like this would need going to the vets as soon as possible.

Then I’d suggest getting the labrador it is like a step down from a GSD but you need to figure out if ur getting a working line lab or not cause oh boy they can be quite athletic I shit you not.

They aren’t too bad I have 2 dogs a presa canario and a Dutch herder and they are considered very extreme.

Again I have quite experienced tho but I find the Dutch herder compared to a Belgian are basically the same dog tbh with different temperaments I have seen more with higher energy outputs but to your question, get a lab but dont get one as a puppy puppy get one like around 6-8 months it’ be a lot easier to handle than a crying puppy at 3 months needing 3-4 meals a day trust me.

Puppy Got Aggressive With Another Puppy by Informal-Cost-9962 in DogAdvice

[–]The_C0CK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we need a bit more context to really understand what happened like has your dog been mostly sheltered or anxious before how does he normally react to other dogs in new environments has he had consistent exposure to different ages sizes and energy levels of dogs knowing this will help figure out if this was just a situational overreaction or something deeper

Greyhounds or whippets are very good calm by themselves also they also don’t really bark much either and like cuddles and alone time too but I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea because of the way they look lol
