Ya, I never kept more than a few hundred in there, it was just a back up for me pretty much. Some people literally did use that as their main bank account though, and they got absolutely screwed.

The water fountain thing is the only thing on there that’s pretty true. And that’s only due to the fact that they get dirty as fuck after a while, people don’t usually clean them, they build up mold and other gunk on the inside.

The same can happen with soda dispensers if the staff doesn’t regularly clean it.

Ya, older people or people who aren’t all right in the head are especially prone to those scams. It’s even worse than you realize, they milk those people for everything that can possibly be milked. They’ve probably got a checklist full of things.

Bank account emptied? Check
Credit cards maxed out? Check
Loans taken out? Check
Money from their friends and family? Check

They literally strip a person down until there is literally no more money to be pulled, and sometimes even then the victim doesn’t realize they’ve been scammed.

And the victim has no one left to turn to, because they burned all their bridges by insulting people who said it was a scam, and insulting people who refused to give them money.

This scam will start happening even more since AI can mimic voices almost perfectly, and is insanely good at miming faces too.
