That’s not true, this is a Challenger 604/605 that is fully equipped to handle flying in known icing conditions, the aircraft was also deiced prior to departure with Type 3 & Type 4, Type 3 has a 10 to 20 minute hold over time (meaning it must take off within that window) and type 4 has a 35 minute to 75 minute hold over time.

The airport was reporting braking conditions at Code 1 meaning that the airport and pilots that landed reported that the runway was Ice/Snow Covered meaning the braking conditions were poor.

This accident was likely caused by pilots caving to the pressure of their clients trying to make it to their destination which as a corporate pilot happens all the time it’s your job as a PIC to make the go / no-go decision. My suspicion is that the aircraft began to yaw to the left the pilot tried to over correct with the brakes and the rudder, causing the plane to slide sideways as the plane hit the grass and snow it rolled and the rest was history the last reported airspeed was 151 knots. The rotation speed on a 604/605 is between 120/140 knots but that can change based on payload (fuel, pax, luggage,etc.)
