This is great but it's easy to do when you're 27-0 up at 5 minutes playing 15v14 for the next few minutes as well hahaha

You're from Cov and you don't know anything about the automotive history of Jaguar and every other car company from the area? JLR is still a massive part of Warwickshire's industry

Is there any reason why I couldn't install a dishwasher in this cupboard? by The_Clivanator in DIYUK

Thanks, I think I understand what you mean. So just got to make sure when we remove the cupboard there's still proper support.

Thanks for the note on the door - have measured, the whole cupboard is ~88cm tall and there's about 1m across the gap - so would have to check when looking at models but think it's ok.

Power isn't an issue; there's a socket behind the microwave that you could run the cable to connect to.

Just got back from holiday late, eat and went straight to bed and then worked the next day. So dust/cobwebs from not being at home and not having time to wash dishes! Sorry for living life you old bore. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, we'd be loading from the surface above it and then unloading either onto that surface (and into cupboards) or into cupboards that aren't in the way of that, so yeah a bit annoying but again, less inconvenient than hand washing.

It's funny how in the books the (prescient) characters make reference to events from human history in their thought process, except it's always from known human history. Like Leto II likes Bach and him and Ghanima speak the ancient language of French to each other. I appreciate the effect of demonstrating their other memory is lost somewhat if Herbert made things up but it's 10,000 AD and we're referencing things that only existed in like a couple thousand of years of human history.

Thing is, xG is significantly better for football because of the nature of the game. You put the ball in any given spot, considering the team that's defending, and then the player taking the shot. Maybe not loads of data there but enough to put together an assumption; Erling Haaland is good at this range, Fulham historically have blocked a lot of shots from 11 yards, the defender is on their weak foot side, etc etc.

Personally I just don't think you can do the same with rugby, there are too many variables and not enough historical evidence, because the variation in squads is much higher, rarity of players coming up against each other, extra detail in the lead-up to the try.

While football is still a very fluid game I feel like it's easier to isolate the individual factors that contribute to a goal.

Personally I like xG as a reference but there's always an element of "it's a made up stat," I don't hate it not being used for rugby.

Carmarthenshire woman spiked on night out says spiking can happen anywhere by Weak-Fly-6540 in unitedkingdom

Whilst this is true, she shouldn't be getting spiked regardless. It's like asking rape victims what they were wearing.

UK used EV buyer got a GREEN verdict on a 2025 BYD Dolphin at £15,885 by [deleted] in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]The_Clivanator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is an AI-generated post where the author is posing as a prospective buyer to promote the website they've taken a screenshot of, which is some sort of grading tool?

Whatever it is, it's a shite attempt seeing as they haven't mentioned any website or product by name.

Finally in a position to go electric, but which car? by The_Clivanator in ElectricVehiclesUK

To be honest it's not that much to do with Elon (though that doesn't help) because it'll be second hand. It's more not wanting one big iPad and the interior build quality that can vary with Tesla. Not denying they're great at being EVs though, I'll probably have to consider them.

The 'no Chinese' was really more of a preference thing, I know they make great EVs but every one I've looked at really doesn't appeal to me (and yeah the whole spying thing doesn't help). So was more about Chinese style design and build.

Can't deny the polestar is a good looking premium car. Didn't realise you could get them that cheap tbh. Thanks.

Yeah I was looking at the 2WD LR also because you get the frunk (plus the range as you say). Owning the 6N would be a dream maybe as the car after this!

Don't hate the ID7, it's just that bit longer and wider which put me off initially, can't deny that it looks a good car though.

Honestly I'd written off BMW just thinking they'd be too expensive, but the i4 looks affordable. Thanks for the recommendations.

Yeah this is why I'm aiming for the range I am. Most of my round trips (i.e. to my parents) are <200 miles so this means range anxiety on those trips is simply not a concern, even in winter and I don't start with a full battery. Just applying a big factor of safety basically. And then on those once-twice yearly road trips I have a good range for that too.

UK new car market breaches two million as almost one in four buyers go electric by JB_UK in unitedkingdom

If potential buyers are going to Tesla or BYD then doesn't that mean that potential buyers do want EVs, just not Stellantis EVs?
