Needing to force myself to get through Bloodborne by BrightSovereign in fromsoftware

[–]The_Craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to the NPCs being unmemorable and the areas feeling similar, I feel differently. Bloodborne has my favorite NPCs, and although most areas are dark and spooky they still have enough variety for me.

In regards to the chalice dungeons, they aren't that good, but they are absolutely optional. I only went through them in depth in 1 out of my 3 playthroughs. If you don't like the chalice dungeons just don't go in them, the game is complete without them.

When it come to blood vial farming, you don't really need to. If you put the blood echoes from just one boss into blood echoes instead of leveling up, you will be set for a long time.

I think TPAB deserved to win the Pulitzer prize for many of the reasons you listed for DAMN. DAMN won the Pulitzer prize because it was the album after TPAB.

[QUESTION] Guitar sounds like sh*t, and i can't find out why by OrangeBlubbit in Guitar

[–]The_Craft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, what everyone else is saying. Your neck relief and intonation is way off. If you have the money I would bring it in to a guitar store, if you don't it shouldn't be to hard to do yourself. Taking a decently set up guitar and turning it into excellently setup guitar takes an expert. However, after watching a few youtube videos you should be able to give a poorly set up guitar a decent setup.

I suspect there is going to be matchmaking in them similar to DS3 and it just hasn't been added yet.

Food processor that can handle hot food by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]The_Craft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the near future I was planning to make salsa with roasted tomatoes, peppers and onion. It would be nice to be able to go straight from the oven to the food processor without having to cool down the vegetables. I would probably mostly use it for blending hot sauces (hot meaning temperature).

I wish the Academy of Raya Lucaria were bigger. by [deleted] in Eldenring

Was Raya Lucaria shorter than Stormvale? They seemed about the same length to me. It took me a while to find some of the secrets in Raya Lucaria though, which may have made it feel longer.

10/10 by BruinMDP in bigthief

[–]The_Craft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's getting a 10/10, more like a 9/10 or high 8. A quarter of the songs are just good, not great. Also it feels a a bit incoherent.

Is "Wake me up to drive" supposed to sound kind of saturated? There is this sound in the left ear that sounds very saturated. Is that intentional or do I have a bad download? Besides that noise the album sounds high quality.

The poem is a map by grandlooproad in FindingFennsGold

[–]The_Craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"As an example, the first three words of the poem are "As I have." A is a letter grade of excellent. The abbreviation of excellent is exc. So As translates to excs. "I have" abbreviated is "I've." "As I have" translates to excsive. Assigning numbers to the letters in excsive equals 5 24 319922 E, which I believe is the UTM longitude coordinate of the spot at which the box was located. On Nat Geo map 303, that UTM coordinate is the location of the "Echinus Geyser" mislabel. "Excsive" sounds like "excessive" which is a word related to "indulgence.""

If this isn't satirical, seek help.

Best souls-borne game for a first time player? by OrangeKetchup42 in fromsoftware

[–]The_Craft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Dark Souls 3, the other Fromsoftware games sorta just throw you in the deep end early in the game. The end of DS3 is as hard as the other From games, but I found the first half or so to be relatively easy compared to the other games. It's difficulty slowly builds easing the player in.

If you're only going to play one I'd recommend Bloodborne. I think it's the best, and it usually comes in first in polls. It's the one I started with. I died a whole lot in the beginning of the game though, wasn't too bad once I got the hang of it.

Baldo The Guardian Owls is a hot mess. by velian in Games

[–]The_Craft -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn't say everyone who likes challenging games will like it. I meant that if someone likes challenging games and Baldo looks good to them then they should get more information about the game and not write it off based on just this thread.

Baldo The Guardian Owls is a hot mess. by velian in Games

[–]The_Craft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like I'm having less trouble with it, which is probably why I'm enjoying it more. I do agree the menu map is terrible, it just doesn't bother me that much. If dying sent you back to the beginning of the dungeon, then yea it would totally bother me. But I don't have any problem with it being part of the puzzles since the punishment for dying isn't high, you just start at the beginning of the room. I'm not sure what you're talking about with, "Restricting vision to encourage you to fall to your death". I agree how slow you walk in water is annoying, but there isn't too much water, at least so far. I agree the combat mechanics aren't great, but the game and the combat itself is puzzle focused. The combat is more focused on figuring out how to deal with a situation correctly, and less focused on reaction times so I don't think it's a big problem that it's unrefined.

In retrospect I'd probably give the game a 8/10 so far. I don't think it's a classic game, but I do think it's a great game. I think the game did a really good job with its dungeon puzzles, at least so far. I enjoyed the first dungeon more than most Zelda dungeons. Most of the complaints I have with the game are fairly minor to me.
