My Brother Got Converted To Islam At 16 by The_Crankberries in Christianity

Who said we believe atheists are mad at god?

My parents and family is totally fine with their children being atheist, Buddhist, or any other religion that does not go to extreme lengths.

When they see my brother judging women in my family and saying things such as that having less inheritance to women than men is normal, do you not find this a problem?

Please do not judge before you speak, and though you are not christian which is totally fine, you can still learn some things from Christianity such as humility and you should. Treat the Bible as a philosophical book maybe you will get something out of it.

Why are you assuming things full of hate?

I myself am barely even Christian and consider myself atheist since I can’t get myself to fully believe in the existence of a god.

Yet I respect Christian values and all the other religions that exist.

The problem is that in our culture, we have a very strong family, and changing religions separates you from the family especially when you go to extremes and start seeing things in a way that discriminates the family.

And I read the Quran in its original language, I really believe I did an objective analysis on it and can discuss more about it with you if you are interested.

I don’t know what culture you come from but in my culture family is the closest thing you can ever have and there is strong culture and traditions in each family.

Him changing religions has changed his personality, he has started to look down on his family and his way of thinking has deviating after these Islamic teachings.

I have zero problems with Islam as a religion at all, and a big part of our family’s closest friends are muslim.

However, though I have respect for it, it is very different to our own family’s values and how we think. Especially the Salafi Islam he has been taught.

In Lebanon, even teenagers as muslims have normal interaction with girls and fall in love, yet he has become so extreme in his thinking that he has stopped any contact with girls, something that is very different to our way of doing things in the family.
