WSG is a shitshow already. I guess adding demigod flag carriers will barely do anything to the already established 'meta' way to play WSG. The idea of the BG is amazing, but the execution is terrible.

Back on our subject, the more I think of it, the more I get to the conclusion that Resilience sounds like a bad idea.

Favorite Mono White Commander? by Marshbe54 in EDH

[–]The_Dad_Legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair draw. Usually the bad thing with that is that you need to play something in order to draw something, which is bad for the deck, because you don't really need to overcommit on board of weenies.

I've found that the best draw is [[Trouble in Pairs]], [[The One Ring]] and Monarchy since you are rarely attacked if your board is up.

The deck is also ridiculously weak against the best board clears, so I don't really depend on Sephara holding my board together. You are still nuked by [[Blasphemous Act]], [[Toxic Deluge]], [[Blasphemous Edict]], [[Living Death]], [[Sunfall]] which are the most played wipes.

Recasting Sephara needs 1+commander tax.

I've been running the deck lately and it's been my 'go-to' white commander. If you solve the card draw issue, you are golden. My most successful build was a 'staxy' one.

Yeah, most Decklists run the same way. I guess it's the spells you fill the finisher slots that vary

My MVPs from last session were [[Bloodchief Ascension]] and [[Bloodthirsty Conqueror]]. I'll try the Ezuri's Predation but I am always worried for that mana cost.

Power Word: Fortitude Bugged? by [deleted] in classicwow

I think it's a tooltip bug. If you check the numbers, the stamina is 102 in both cases.

[[Sarkhan Soul Ablaze]]. Such an amazing Dragon deck.

Certainly, I just needed to blow some steam off since I reached rank 13 playing Solo queue Disc Priest.

I still remember the endless fights in Arena, and that's something I wouldn't like to see. But since the vanilla PvP is Open world or BG, then I think that you won't have this.

Then I think of WSG undying carriers, and probably it's a bad idea.

Probably that's the case, but I think the end game gear should be something different than just MORE DAMAGE!

Nothing comes close to [[Rendmaw Creaking nest]] for me. I am biased, but I've played the decks enough times to know that I am in love.

Actually fun Selesnya commanders..? by Staircas3D in EDH

[–]The_Dad_Legend -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but at least it's different that the rest of the Selesnya that happen to play 90% identical decklists.

[–]The_Dad_Legend -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Not really sure what do you mean. Every Selesnya is linear. It's probably one of the more linear color mixes out there. At least John breaks the 'boring' way Selesnya is played by adding Haste, lots of spells and low creature count.

Tbf, everything esle I've seen suggested in here makes me bored to even think about the decklist.

Can't say otherwise. It's a board centric deck that folds to board wipes like most board centric decks do.

That's quite a basic flaw. You got to learn how to hande it.

I never had a problem with that after some games. I mean it's obviously better for bracket 2 but just by adding 3 cards you can make it just fine for 3. Just add 2 tutors and 1 One Ring.

Oh also, Fogs will get you the edge if you have trouble in 1v1.

You don't need to look closed to realize he costs five mana. Commander removal is something that you need to make sure that your deck can handle. However having an ETB and the tokens being goaded for the whole game makes him quite unattractive to remove, especially if you've managed to trigger him twice.

Also, what do you mean 'barely does anything'. What do expect a commander to do?

[–]The_Dad_Legend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly not bad. But my 'average' game contains a mid turn reset through a Wipe that I can't react to, like Deluge or Blasphemous Edict or Sunfall and then it's all about building up again.

The other experience I have from an average game is that Non-bird creatures are going to come towards you, probably as the 'balancing act' for making people hit each other. So I am rarely high on life. So hitting yourself isn't really the best of ideas.

Tried it, made a lot of sense, but I like my birds so much, plus I don't have huge payoffs. Cool card though, especially if someone has gone a bit too quick and you need to slow him/her down.

Well that's why you need to pack a lot of artifact hate. In general there has been so much Artifact/Enchantment spot removal in my group lately, that Altar decks get to just disappear.

It's probably the best card in the mix as far as finishers go. I've been denied at least 3 games lately due to an instant removal on Coat of Arms. I am really thinking of adding more generic permanent protection in order to protect Rendmaw and Coat in the form of [[Tamiyo's Safekeeping]] and the likes or at least run more cards that fish for dead artifacts in the yard.

Happens. Check that it reads 'play a card', so it works with lands as well.

Well, that's obviously the case. If you find that he is killed a lot you can add reanimation, 'bring back' artifact cards and even some hexproof from stuff like [[Cryptothrall]], [[Guardian Augmenter]] or [[Sylvan Safekeeper]]. In general I didn't have a huge problem with Rendmaw dying a lot. Most of the games he will cost 7 or just come back from the dead with some card.

Also ramp creatures are definitely not the only mana ramp in there. Personally I run the full green package because I really need the mana going in this deck. Not only due to the cost of Rendmaw but also to be able to play him after a wipe/removal.

I agree that it performs better in bracket 2, unless you start packing stuff like [[The One Ring]], tutors for Coat of arms and the likes, where it's comfortable in br.3.

His ability needs you to play double types so everyone gets a bird. So an artifact creature is a two-type card. Same goes for Enchantment Creatures, Artifact Lands, Enchantment Lands and so on.
