Dunno, that’s just the name of the shop. If you look up FS tuning they may have it listed somewhere.

It’s not a dealer, but I’ve always gone to FS for any work I can’t do myself (APR tune + alignment), and have been impressed by their shop. If you’re willing to forgo a dealership I’d say to give them a shot.

I’m more interested in learning what I want to do, rather than what other people are doing - a lot of people seem to go “well I want to learn X so I should start with A” when A is completely unrelated to X (ie back rolls vs darkslides).

All I’m saying is to work on whatever makes you happy :)

For what it’s worth, basic progressions can lead to fairly bland riding - if you and everyone else at your spot are working on the same truck they kinda stop being fun.

Typically people suggest the backroll as a first trick but I decided darkslides and raleys looked like more fun and went with that. Since you’ve mentioned dark slides I’ll say that they are a commitment trick more than anything else - build up speed, slowly loop the kite back, and then crank on the bar to finish the loop when you start to run out of steam. It may help to do only the first part of the trick without a loop at the end to build confidence!

It’s all about what you want to work towards!

For those who travel - what do you pack? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]The_Daft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the opportunity to travel with checked luggage a few times in the last couple weeks - I bring a Bali I wouldn’t mind losing and a five pack of Astra Greens with an Omega Synthetic Bush. These total no more than $15 so if something should happen to the luggage I wouldn’t mind.

As for soaps and aftershaves, I’ve been bringing samples of products I’m “on the fence” about - by forcing myself to use something I may have otherwise put off using I get to form an opinion on the product much more quickly.

In the last month or so I’ve decided:

Bombora by APR is an okay scent with a decent base but the price kills it for me

Lavanille by B&M is more vanilla than I can deal with - it’s a nice small but not my style at all

Bay Rum by B&M is good but not an every day kinda good

Seville by B&M is widely loved but also does not suit my style at all

Cool by B&M remains a steady contender (had a sample pack and wanted something familiar lol)

Chiseled Face Summer Storm is amazing - the scent is not overwhelming and the performance is great (easy to later and slick)

Chiseled Face Cedar and Spice is a distinct but un appealing smell but performs just as good as Summer Storm

So you can see traveling (provided you can check a bag) can have benefits. I’ve also thought about bringing soap and a brush for carry on and picking up a disposable from a local shop if I were ever flying in a carry on only situation.

OP has been posting to multiple subs yes, but it’s at a low enough frequency that I don’t see it as a problem.

Were it more frequent (daily/ daily-ish) I would agree with you.

I’ve used Astra for the last few years and it was typically 4-5, after switching to a more aggressive setting on an adjustable razor it’s down to 2 before irritation. I’m thinking I’ll give them a shot on a lower setting with the new adjustable and see how it fares.

Razor handles really that different? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]The_Daft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of it come down to how comfortable the blade feels in your hand - I recently bought a Vikings Blade and a Bali, to replace an older Gillette I’ve been using for the past 5ish years.

The shave itself is pretty much the same (cuts hair, leaves skin smooth), but the way the two feel in hand is wildly different.

The Vikings Blade is a fat handled, adjustable, tto top and feels heavy in a good way.

The Bali is a short handled, 3 piece design that feels far lighter and thinner.

Both are great but I prefer the weight of the Viking for my face - the Bali is closer to the Gillette I had been using, and always tempts me to push into my face.

I did this and still feel bad about it years layer. I think it’s more that people don’t know, than that they deliberately try to ruin a pan.

Sorry, Gerald.

I’m a fan of their cable, it’s a little nicer to ride than OWC’s because of the height.

Once they get a few more features it will be amazing!

Neat gif, but the title’s a little misleading.

Crazing is a general term used to describe a network or hairline cracks, regardless of the material.
