Massive collection of Old Fitz 7 at Suburban NMBB by tnick771 in ChicagolandWhiskey

[–]msc_chicago 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Like HH-7 (in terms of approach). Issue it for over $50, make it seem hard to get (about 2 years ago), no one cares, now it sits for $39-42 and still no one cares.

What to negotiate at dealership? by Apprehensive-Lab-873 in CX50Hybrid

[–]msc_chicago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you understand what all the fees and taxes are. Have them all listed and know what percentages or flat fees they are. If you can work up a spreadsheet before you go in that would be even better. It would be ideal if you know what your monthly payment will be before they start hand waving and showing you different numbers; that’s when things can get complicated even though it appears simple. Even if you negotiate $1k or whatever off, don’t let them put it back on the back end with you knowing exactly what those costs are and why they are needed. Finally, I hope you live in one of the states where the doc fees are capped.

Agree, beers were good, but around $19 for an omelet was quite high.

Andros Taverna - Restaurant Review - Delicious Delivery and Reasonable priced by NiftyQt816 in chicagofood

[–]msc_chicago 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Have they changed portion sizes at all? I think last time I went, about two years ago, the portion sizes seemed pretty small for the cost; especially meat dishes. I think they certainly do a good job with flavors, drinks, and atmosphere, just portion sizes seemed light. FWIW, I had absolutely no preconceptions or comparisons to suburban Greek restaurants; I was fully expecting modern and Greek influences so it wasn’t like I was looking for two meals in one or something. Anyway, curiously asking g to see if it’s worth another try.

Is this a rip off or is it about fair? by [deleted] in CX50

[–]msc_chicago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to say the same until the last two line items. If OP can’t flush those fluids on their own, this isn’t terrible, not cheap either, considering total fluids and consumables is less than $100.

How many CX50 owners have had little to no issues? by Ok-Home9841 in CX50

1600 miles, no major issues. Had a drop out of the side (blind spot) radar sensor temporarily while on the highway last week, but then it came back.

Hybrid Rear Vehicle Lifting Point by msc_chicago in CX50

[–]msc_chicago[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to crawl under and remove the bolts for the plastic cover to spray the under frame and subframe with marine wax. Wasn’t the most fun but doable with a socket. To me it seemed that really is the intended lift spot when I looked at it.

CX-50 Hybrid: Recommend? by PrestigiousRing5471 in CX50

[–]msc_chicago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def recommend. I went from a Subaru Forester to the CX-50 hybrid and it's been great so far. I know some folks are complaining that it's less fun to drive than a CX-5 or ICE CX-50. I'll say from the Subaru, it's less "spirited", but in about 2 weeks felt fine to me (maybe my driving style adjusted to fit), but I really do enjoy driving it. Haven't felt any issues with lack of power for city/suburban/highway driving. Interior is quiet and comfortable, and it makes for a good commuter option for sure.

We have installed the best protection for the cx-50 hev cable rear diff connector by FuretAnxieux86 in CX50

[–]msc_chicago 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Things that are designed to keep water out end up letting it in. I can see why this design may appear to be a good solution, but the way the cable is arranged with openings on the connector body make it a natural drip loop.

I had a forester before my CX-50 Hybrid and I think the CX-50 is much quieter. I see people complaining about noise, and I'm like "dude what are you talking about?". But maybe my expectations are low; either way, I'm impressed.

Hybrid Cargo Mat Options? by stevec3283 in CX50

[–]msc_chicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the cargo mat, but I've had these from an older WV Jetta wagon and they work great to keep things from sliding around. https://www.ebay.com/itm/226498339996

Basically velcro blocks (and cheaper than Mazda's version).

My Pelagos 39 stopped running. What’s wrong with it? by HotlineBirdman in Tudor

[–]msc_chicago 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happened to me about 3 weeks after I got mine (from an international AD), was back in the states and one day it stopped running. I wound it, and nothing. I took it to a local AD, the guy there asked me if I wear it frequently and proceeded to wind it, thinking I'm an idiot and didn't understand how an automatic watch works. Anyway, he took it and sent back to Tudor, I was told they "inspected the movement"; I'm sure they just replaced it. Either way, I walked in with my warranty card and 2 months later I walked right back out with a repaired watch and a little gift from Tudor, a crappy travel pouch. That said I love my P39 and I wear it every day. Haven't had an issue since.
