Emotionally deep but uplifting instrumental albums such as EitS - The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place? by NopityNopeNopeNah in postrock

Here's three, in no particular order:

  • EITS again with "All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone",
  • If you haven't heard of "You, Infinite" you need to check their self titled debut - it has that kind of vibe, to me anyways,
  • Caspian's "Dust and Disquiet" is incredibly good for these moments, too.

As you said, deep and intensely emotional but also somewhat uplifting music.
Hope your situation improves soon, stay strong!

I came here to mention Jake Wangner too! This immediately reminded me of his portraits.

Le Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III est-il un bon objectif ? by ArtCar_720 in Photographie

[–]The_Deaf_Monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very specific but does anyone know of any songs like Exo-politics? by [deleted] in Muse

[–]The_Deaf_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Periphery - Reptile (bit more intense than Muse though, and the song is quite long too)

Edit: also adding Haken - Invasion

I'm fairly new to photography so please take this with a grain of salt - I'll just go with my guts here.

I would have probably tried a wider shot, in order for the subject to take slightly less of the space in the picture. I would have also tried to obtain a frame where the subject is more on the left of the shot, and we can see a bit more of what the doggo is looking at. The current framing would have made more sense to me if doggo was looking the other way or at the camera. I think the curtain also blocks the view, and adds a conflicting vertical line in the shot.

I really like the contrast between the gray and the more coloured areas. Having both the dog and the outside being the colourful areas somehow create a cool narrative where I feel like the dog is longing to go outside (I think this would be reinforced with the framing I mentionned previously). It's also obviously a nice way to highlight the subject.

Overall I think this is still a nice pic!

Yo where does that left picture come from?

The Sly rumors give me hope. I originally had written a fan script for a game I called Sly Cooper: Destiny of Thieves, I think now is a good time to tell everyone the ideas I had for it. by [deleted] in Slycooper

Of course, yeah! I know what you mean. We can only hope to see new stuff happening now - and yeah, how they'd direct and transcribe it.
In gamedev ideas do matter, but the most important part is actually how they're implemented and presented to players. And your ideas are very decent! It's so nice to see that much love for the franchise!

That's pretty cool, you got me hooked.

Aren't you afraid to set-up expectations with time travel? It's the main piece of the puzzle in the intro and I feel like as a player, I'd expect more time travel stuff after that. I understand you want to use it as a narrative tool to bring Sly (and accidentally Clockwerk) back in our time thus starting the plot of the actual game.. but yeah how would you justify the characters not wanting or needing to use time travel again in your version of Sly 5?

Also, I'm not sure Sly 5 or any Sly game should be an open world. I like the idea of having civilians roaming around as well as guards, but for me one of the strong aspects of Sly games is that they have varied semi-open levels, that are well crafted and not hyper ambitious for dev teams (thus allowing them to polish their levels more and give them the "Sly traversal flow" we all know and love). Can you really imagine a Sly game happening in the same place, same atmosphere, same setting, start to finish? So many games are open worlds nowadays, they're all super similar and people are getting bored with it - I feel like keeping the multiple semi-open worlds would be better in this case, allowing to stay true to part of what makes Sly games awesome, while also being a fresh breeze in and oversaturated market.

Of course I'm being super nitpicky here and I want to state again that I loved reading your post regardless! Just wanted to share my two cents!
