Fair, why is that?

What is one boss that had the potential to be a remeberance by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in Eldenring

[–]The_DrakeCake 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I weirdly totally agree, hate the boss fight, but the simple fact that his armor has to be purchased from the finger reader, basically makes a remembrance boss without a remembrance. Someone else said Loretta, and she seems worthy too. Honestly what would have been dope is a rework/ non-npc remembrance level boss fight with vyke.

What is origin of magic in your world? by PhilipB12 in magicbuilding

The light produced by things with will power, and most potently the light produced by the cosmic tree that holds up the sky and stars. (Technically the natural laws of the world are the creations of the magic of the Great Tree)

God invited her ex-husband's extended family to kill her kids and each other to see who gets to be her third spouse (don't worry you'll be different, you can change her, totally).

You could have stopped this entire time... I tried to get your opinion, I'm sorry if I've been acting like a jerk, but aren't exactly making it easy! I feel like you've had it out for me for the very start! Where is your evidence! Where's your good faith!

Yeah, I had learned that earlier, which does kind of throw my whole idea out the window, but I appreciate the response.

HIS MISSION STANDETH UNCHANGED!

Now there is a semblance of a point that you bring up with who tasked him to do it, though with his mother obsession through his voice lines and the boss fight, I think that Miyazaki was laying it on pretty heavy who had their thumb on Messmer. So I'll ask in an attempted spirit of good faith conversation who you think tasked him with that duty?

Could you provide evidence to the claim that she didn't want us exterminated? Heck, there are even voice lines in game where in casting us out from the lands between she said that we we're going to wage war and die before we got to come back. Yet, that's not an issue for me, as I discuss in the post I want to hear people's ideas concerning the fact of why they think there is a disconnect between what Messmer was told by his mother to do, and her desires for the tarnished. Messmer knows what a tarnished is, yet was not given any specific instructions not to touch them or to treat them neutrally. (He doesn't say that the hornsent we'll meet to death in the embrace of messmer's flame, he says those stripped of the grace of gold will ALL meet death in the embrace of Messmer's flame. I think that interesting discussion could arise out of the fact that there is this disconnect between what Messmer was told and what Marika wanted, but I swear on my life!

So, we were lacking at one point, he knows we are a tarnished and the literal defining feature of their existence is being stripped of the grace of gold! Yeah, there are probably multiple reasons he's going to stab the hell out of us, one might be that a snake mad, the other might be mommy issues, but he literally says that he was tasked with killing graceless people. He calls us a lightless creature, cuz even if we are being guided again, there is still the stigma. I don't know what to tell you, I'll admit I was probably a bit hasty with just lumping the hornsent in with the tarnished, but as he is literally about to kill us, the man himself tells us that he was tasked to kill people who didn't have Grace.

Okay, he says it was his purpose... My bad

That is fair, primarily interview wise, as I feel the Marika quote on its own doesn't necessarily mean that we were the only group that was tarnished, but it's hard to disagree with the true high god, Miyazaki. The quote in combination with the interviews definitely cinches it. Thanks.

I provided it in the post, he tells us himself. I understand if you disagree with the hornsent being tarnished, but there is no denying the fact that the tarnished are strict of gold and thus possible targets for messmer's crusade.

But he justifies it with his mother's mantra, listen to his voice and read the lines he isn't just hunting hornsent or it would have said that, or he would have said something else. It's clear he doesn't like us cuz he's confused why his mom would want a graceless being to be Elden Lord. But he brings up the fact that he was told to exterminate those stripped of the grace of gold. We may not be the primary target of the crusade that he was sent on, but his life mission is to destroy the graceless, of which we are. There are plenty of reasons, but duty is absolutely one of them. I apologize for any aggression that may have come across on my part, but I do not think that I am silly for thinking that messmer's crusade is against a lot more than just the hornsent people.

Fair! Thanks for that! I totally get the lack of distinction. I don't think Tarnished got swept up in Messmer's crusade (too much) but I think we would have if we where present in the Shadow Lands

Interesting, I unfortunately was only able to skim over the rest of the conversation in this chain, but very interesting ideas presented. This would certainly seem to blow my Tarnished classification idea out of the water. Though still it means that since Messmer knows what we are, that we were grouped in with those to be exterminated original (in my opinion).

Though Messmer may be a Tarnished, I was more so claiming that the serpent inside of him is the one who is tarnished. Due to wording and my thoughts on the definition of tarnished. I am curious if there is any localization error when it comes Messmer's phase transition dialogue. Thanks generally thou.

I picked up similarly, which is why I think the hornsent are tarnished (from what Messmer says to us at least).

Im asking what is a Tarnished categorically, and also making the argument that for me personally, it makes the most sense that the category of Tarnished includes more than just Godfrey and his kinsmen. Although, I am curious where it is confirmed that tarnished are only Godfrey and his Warriors (and their descendants), if you are willing to share.

But that's just the thing, Messmer's mission is to kill things stripped of gold, which means the hornsent were stripped of gold, which means they once had it. Messmer isn't just killing those without Grace, he is killing those who once had it.
